💬 Always Improving for the Safety and Connection of Our Community
We are always looking at ways to improve the services and support we provide.
During Cyclone Alfred in Brisbane, we experienced a communication breakdown between our SIL accommodation houses due to damaged cell towers. This highlighted just how important reliable communication is during emergencies.
✅ In response, we have taken action.
All mobile devices across our SIL accommodation have now been upgraded with the capability to connect to Telstra Starlink. This ensures that our staff and participants can stay connected with management and family members — even during outages to traditional phone networks.
Your safety, wellbeing, and connection are our priority, no matter the circumstances.

💚 Investing in Safety, Supporting Quality Care 💚

As part of our ongoing continuous improvement plan, we’re proud to be investing in essential safety equipment across our SIL homes — including AEDs (Defibrillators).

These devices are here to support our staff to respond quickly and confidently in an emergency, helping us continue to provide safe, high‑quality care to the people we support. While we truly hope we never need to use them, having this equipment on site gives us peace of mind and reinforces our commitment to wellbeing and preparedness.

Our goal is for every SIL house to be equipped with one, because safety and care always come first. ✅

🎉 Audit Success Announcement 🎉

I’m proud to share the results of our recent mid-term audit conducted in July. We received a Rating 2 – Conformity across all assessed outcomes and indicators, confirming that we meet all requirements with strong evidence of effective practices, training, and documentation. This rating reflects negligible risk and supports our continued certification.

Even more exciting, we achieved a Rating 3 – Conformity with Best Practice in governance—the highest possible rating! This recognises our strategic and business planning, which thoughtfully considers legislation, risk, NDIS guidance, and the needs of both participants and staff.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of our entire staff. Your commitment to high-quality, person-centred services made this possible.

In Touch support Services Currently has some capacity for our Registered nurse with over 30 years of experience to create care plans for participants that manage their own staff. We also have capacity for continent assessments.

The Care plan will clearly outline the participant’s daily care needs, routines, preferences, and goals.
Ensures that support workers (especially those hired directly by the participant) have a consistent and professional reference to follow.

1. Promotes Safety and Quality
Includes clinical instructions (e.g., medication management, mobility support, nutrition, wound care) to ensure safe and effective care.
Helps reduce risks by identifying early warning signs, emergency procedures, and escalation pathways.

2. Supports NDIS Funding and Compliance
Demonstrates the clinical justification for supports, which can help secure or maintain NDIS funding.
Aligns with NDIS documentation standards, making it easier for participants to navigate reviews and audits.

3. Empowers Participants
Reflects the participant’s voice, choices, and goals, promoting autonomy and dignity.
Helps participants manage their own team with confidence, knowing their care is structured and well-documented.

4. Facilitates Team Communication
Acts as a central reference for all involved: support workers, coordinators, allied health professionals, and family.
Reduces misunderstandings and improves coordination across the participant’s care network.

Last month two of our participants moved into this custom built home by Neptune Homes - Head Office . The participants have been supported by In Touch since 2020. Unfortunately, due to the current rental crisis the participants had to move five times in the past seven years due to the property owners selling or increasing the rent. They were excited to move into their forever home.

In Touch Support Services, an organisation dedicated to assisting people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth, has successfully completed the Injury Prevention and Management (IPaM) program! 🎉

Through IPaM, they’ve made their workplace safer and stronger. The program helped them:
✅ reduce workplace incidents with proactive measures
✅ increase staff engagement by building a strong safety culture
✅ improve processes to make incident reporting and risk management easier.
