📢 SA Pathology – Loxton Closure Tomorrow

We have just been informed that SA Pathology in Loxton will be closed tomorrow. As far as we are aware it will be business as usual on Tuesday. If there are any changes we will update this post.

For urgent bloods, the SA pathology in Berri will remain open.

🌟 Welcome to Loxton Health Centre, Dr Maryam Maleki! 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Maryam Maleki to the Loxton Health Centre team.

Dr Maleki has moved from Tehran, Iran, where she has been working in both a large hospital environment and a smaller more rural general practice, giving her a broad depth of knowledge. Dr Maleki joins us as an International Medical Graduate (IMG) working under Level 1 supervision, meaning that all patients she sees will be discussed with a senior doctor prior to leaving the premises whilst she finds her feet.

Dr Maleki has a particular interest in women’s health, while also providing care across the full range of general practice. We’re excited for our patients to get to know her and for her to become part of our local community.

Please join us in giving Dr Maleki a very warm welcome to Loxton! 💙

Today our team wore jeans in support of Jeans For Genes day 👖💙 we have gone well above our aim of $350 and are not far off hitting 1k!! If you would like to support us the link is down below 💙💙

We're raising money for Jeans for Genes to help fund cures for the 1 in 20 kids born with a genetic disease. Please support us by donating today – thank you! 💙

📢 Important Update for Patients – From 1 July

From 1 July, Medicare requirements are changing. Following your consultation, patients will be required to assign their Medicare benefits before a claim can be processed. This allows us to continue bulk billing eligible consultations rather than charging the patient.

This process may occur in one of two ways:

✅ Signing a paper form at the clinic (as many patients have done previously), or

✅ Receiving a secure text message from HotDoc after your appointment.

This requirement applies to all bulk-billed services, including telephone consultations, such as when a doctor calls to discuss your results.

If you receive a HotDoc text message, you will be asked to confirm your Date of Birth to verify your identity and accept to assign your Medicare benefit to the GP.

⚠️ Please note: HotDoc will NEVER ask for your bank account details, credit card information, or any payment details via text message.

⭐Welcome, Dr. Quynh Nguyen! ⭐

We are very excited to introduce Dr Nguyen as the newest member of our team.

Dr Nguyen was born and raised in Port Augusta before heading to Adelaide for medical school. She completed her intern year last year and will be joining our team to complete a rotation in women's health. She will be working at the Loxton Health Centre on Mondays and Fridays, consulting with Dr Harvey and Dr Tait.

During her downtime Dr Nguyen enjoys playing badminton, listening to music, and crocheting.
