Totally pushed out of my comfort zone heading to my kinesiology conferenceâŚ
Catching a plane on my own, organising Ubers, and leaving my family for four nights for the first time.
It was a lot.
But wow⌠the connection, the knowledge, the conversations, it was incredible.
So many little nuggets of information that made me pause, reflect, and challenge myself in the best way.
One moment that really stayed with meâŚ
The MC reminded me so much of my dad. His cheeky mannerisms, that big child-like energy, and the way he radiated pure love.
The way he gave thanks, you could feel he truly meant it. His words and actions spoke volumes.
And honestly⌠it made me really homesick.
By the end of the conference, all I wanted was to jump on a plane and get home.
But after chatting with a beautiful friend, she reminded me of something so simple yet powerfulâŚ
Feeling homesick means you are deeply loved at home. And that shifted everything.
I actually spent all four nights staying with a friend⌠but it wasnât until the very last night that I realised I was finally fully present.
That really hit me.
After the conference that day, I went back to my room, used some of the little tools I had picked up, and did a quick self-balance.
And just like that⌠I could feel the shift.
Calmer. More grounded. Back in my body.
To finish the trip, we had food, drinks, and lots of laughs, and I was finally able to truly enjoy it.
My takeaway.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can feel terrifying.
Youâll have highs and lows. Doubt. Overthinking. Emotional waves.
But youâll also grow.
Youâll learn.
And youâll realise that most of the things you worry about⌠never actually happen.
(96% of the stories we create in our minds are just that â stories. đ)
Even as a kinesiologist, I caught myself getting caught up in the overwhelm and forgetting to use my own tools to regulate and centre, And thatâs human.
Sometimes we all need support to come back to balance.
If youâve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about taking that next step in your life, this is your reminder. You donât have to do it alone.
Kinesiology can help calm your nervous system, clear the mental noise, and bring you back to centre.
