Ways I keep myself on track with my goals, as a dietitian.

I feel like it’s not talked about a lot that is dietitians are also people with our own goals, that nutrition plays a big part in! Currently, I am working on building strength, hopefully having a bit of fat loss to support my goals so eating more whole foods is of importance. I’ve also been battling worse PCOS symptoms around the time of my period so making sure my everyday nutrition supports reduced inflammation is super important.

So this is how I do it:
- I keep protein snacks in the fridge & cupboard to either add to my meals, have as a quick on the go snack or after my workout
- I keep lower cal snacks in the cupboard that taste like the higher sugar options to help me on days I’m hungry & feel like a sweet treat but don’t want the normal sugar hit
- I keep actual ‘discretionary’ snacks in my cupboard to have in small amounts as often as I feel (usually as dessert hehe)
- fresh & frozen fruit to get me the fibre, antioxidants and micronutrients my body needs. I love fruit so this is such as easy thing for me to grab to pair with my snacks or add to my breakfast in the morning
- cereals for an easy go to breakfast but support my blood sugars in the morning by not causing them to spike (my PCOS hates me otherwise 🥺)
- eggs. I always have them to have a more varied diet & to give my body the great protein & nutrients from them, without needing meat as the main protein.
- of course veg is so important. I always have fresh veg stacked up in my crisper to add to lunch & dinners. I rarely munch on veg as a snack as it’s not a preference of mine, but I love me a massive chicken Caesar salad, chickpea salad or stir fry’s with massive amounts of colour.
- & finally, lentils. I prioritise cooking one veg meal a week minimum, to ensure I still get my protein requirements hit but reduce the intake of my meat & saturated fats & focus on whole grain fibre fuelled options

If you have your goals & seem to be stagnant, use the link in my bio to book an appointment, & I’ll help you make strides in your progress 🫶🏼

Do you suffer with endo? If so, this post is for you.

Nutrition plays a huge role in our treatment of endometriosis. Nutrition helps with balancing hormones, reducing inflammation, stabilising blood sugar levels and reducing pain and discomfort.
These can be HUGE game changers for the endo community.

Below are some tips and tricks to help you get started managing your endo symptoms. Fibre, healthy fats and antioxidants are going to be your best friends. By reducing chances of developing chronic diseases, excreting some of the excess estrogen and reducing overall body inflammation, you'll be feeling lighter in just a few weeks.

To personalise your diet for your symptoms and to ensure you are getting the right amounts for your journey, book either an in person or telehealth appointment below, so I can help you in this journey.
