It's been a tough year for disabled people. NDIS Providers, and families. And the fight is far from over.

So, don't forget to touch some grass, pat a cat (or a dog), get some sun in your eyeballs, and rest.

We are not beaten.
We are not finished.
We're just getting started.

We've been talking about market consolidation for a long time.
We've been asking, who benefits from cutting funds, collapsing small providers, and removing choice and control for participants and their families.
This article lays it out very plainly that previous NDIS Architects are set to cash in on the harmful reforms passed by The Australian Labor Party.
And they've done it legally. There were no rules in place to prevent it.
Just people's rights, choices, and care being shaped and cut to fit what suits private equity.

Please read and share with your colleagues, your families, and friends.

Anyone else wondering why the Australian Labor Party keeps teaming up with the Coalition and One Nation to pass policies that Australian's disagree with or legislation that causes harm?

They teamed up to pass their NDIS Bill, to cap Allied Health funding for Veterans, to push through AI-Algorithms into Aged Care, yelling about how we have no money.

But in the same sitting reject a gas tax, give cuts to billion-dollar corporations, and push care responsibilities back onto families?

It has to make you wonder, who are they really representing? Because it's not their constituents. And isn't that why we elect them?

It's a good time to start thinking about why we vote, how we vote. Who in your electorate is fighting for your rights? We're not talking about Parties, we're talking candidates, MP's.

WHO 👏 FIGHTS 👏 FOR 👏 YOU?

That's who we're interested in voting for in the next election. And we've got plenty of them coming up.

The Bill may have passes but the fight is far from over.
Keep tagging your MP's in the comments to let them know who might be out of a job following the next election, join your union to be part of the fight and contribute to making real change in our sector.

We're stronger together.
United, we can make a real difference.

It's Speech Pathology Week this week and our lovely member, Dr Judy, shares that despite the value of allied health services and the importance of intervention for children wherever they live, Thriving Kids (or Depriving Kids, or Thriving Skids as we also refer to it), will remove services from the children and families who need it. The Federal Government has taken early intervention from.a.generation of children with their NDIS Bill, Thriving Kids', and now apparently Thriving Teens?
What's next? Thriving Veterans? Thriving Aged Care?
All versions of Temu NDIS, drastically underfunded while Labor makes deals with the Liberals to make gas companies richer and buy nuclear submarines?

The NDIS Bill and Thriving Kid's will disproportionately impact First Nation's children and families, and we will continue to see thin markets, and a post code lottery for supports.

Professionals Australia is creating a Workers Co-operative to bring together private practice allied health and support businesses to continue providing services to children where they need them.

If you are in NSW, email your State MP and tell them that you want a Workers Co-operative to form A part of the Thriving Kids Roll out.
See the comments for a link to our tool that will help you get started and linked in.

If you are in another State, we are finalising what our advocacy plans are. If you are in these States and want to be involved in the advocacy plan, get in touch with us.

Senator Jacqui Lambie had all our backs and voted down the NDIS Bill. So lets have hers and back our veterans and the allied health providers who support thier recovery. Sign the petition to Scrap the Cap on Veteran's access to allied health services.

The federal government’s $5,000 annual cap on allied health services for Australia’s veterans—scheduled to start on 1 July 2027—is harmful because it restricts vital, ongoing multidisciplinary care under an arbitrary dollar limit rather than clinical need. Veterans often manage severe, combined physical and psychological injuries—such as PTSD, chronic pain, and mobility loss—that require simultaneous, high-cost support from physiotherapists, psychologists, and occupational therapists. Once the $5,000 threshold is reached, vulnerable individuals may have to choose which essential treatments to stop, threatening their independence and safety at home.

We have to stop forced rationing of vital health supports for vulnerable Australians. There is enough money in our country to support everyone.

Sign the petition in the link in comments.

You'll notice over the next few days that the Australian Labor Party will be slogging their NDIS Propaganda to convince the Australian Public that disabled people , our families, providers, and representative organisations:

🤮Are "anxious" (thanks Ali France for that one),
🤮that they "consulted" with the disability community (thanks Jenny McAllister for that one),
🤮or that we've been calling for "sustainability" and they're just doing what we asked (good one Mark Butler)

But we know the truth. The Labor Party and the Coalition voted to pass legislation that is objectively dangerous. Save for a few who abstained (notice a lot of those who abstained sat through the Inquires, I wonder what their conscience is doing right now?).

They got:
✅48hrs of evidence where participants gave up their privacy to provide testimony
✅More than 5000 submissions telling them in detail how harmful this Bill would be
✅ And sustained advocacy from across the community and sector telling them to vote down the Bill.

So when they pretend at the next Royal Commission that, "they didn't know", "they were following orders to vote with the caucus", we'll be here with the receipts to call them out.

They know.
And they did it anyway.

Make sure they don't get to sit another term in Parliament.

BREAKING

The Australian Labor Party has shown the disability community exactly who they tonight when they passed the NDIS Bill.

This road is not over.
The fight will continue until we have a Safe, Fair, and Forever NDIS that provides the right support, at the right time, to every disabled Australian.

Don't forget to tag your Senators and MP's and let them know that they have lost your vote for pushing ahead with this dangerous and harmful Bill.

Hold your loved ones closed.
Do something kind for yourself.
Rest and recover.

We'll pick this back up and continue to support each other.

We’re all feeling anxious about the decisions being made in the senate today. We know our whole community is waiting with bated breath to see if the government will have the guts to uphold the human rights of disabled Australians.

We have done all we can to advocate for disability rights, carers rights and children’s rights and disability workers rights. Thank you everyone for giving it your all with the phone calls, emails rallies and comments to our senators.

Whatever the outcome we are stronger together. We will face it together and never stop fighting for each other. Solidarity!
