This is 47 (a bit late but hey)!

Last month was my birthday and I haven’t had a chance to thank everyone, life has been quite hectic of late.

This year, the day fell not only on Chinese New Year, it was also a new moon lunar eclipse, the start of a 4 week swing at work and my cycle. Whoa, talk about an intense and overwhelming beginning to my 47th year! It had a kind of a buckle up and hold on, let’s shake off whatever isn’t working kind of vibe, leaving me wondering if the year of the fire horse is going to be all that was predicted 🤔🙃

When I think of Fire from an Ayurvedic perspective it is intense, transformative and destructive. It also has a sense of action, of getting things done no matter what. Throw that in with the energy of the horse and I think it’s going to be a very interesting and intense year indeed. Take a look at what’s happening on a grand/global scale. Although it seems huge atm, I truly think good will come from it, it’s just going to be a bumpy and intense ride.

Currently, I’m in Bali where last week I experienced Nyepi (Balinese New Year). A day of reflection, rest and silence. The whole island stops and rests in their homes. No flights, no shops open, no motorbikes, no noise, no lights. A complete stand still and reset. I quite enjoyed the time it gave me to look at what I want moving forward and sit in gratitude for where I’ve been. It was a beautiful day of going internally and getting clarity and direction on my purpose and inner desires.

I’ll share more on what unfolded later. For now, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to think of me and share your well wishes on my birthday ✨

Feeling the feels today as I pack and jump into the unknown yet again.

Can’t say I’ve ever felt so emotional about moving before. Feeling it deeply in this moment and I’m ok with that. I’m happy sitting with the feels and not trying to look to something or someone else to shift the discomfort.

Saying goodbye to the country, home and people that have held me through life, loss, growth and everything in between as I’ve wandered, watched and worked in this community.

Closing the chapter to all that I’d hoped it would be and what was. An ending of life as I’ve known it.

A deepening of trust and finding comfort within. The journey of this beautiful and crazy life I’m choosing continues… 💚

Now back to what feels like never ending packing, sorting and culling of belongings that I’m taking with me for the ride. Fun times 🙃

The new year is bringing some BIG changes to my business space. Want to know more?
•
In February 2023 I embarked on renting a shop space with a friend in the beautiful town of Maleny on the Sunshine Coast. It was a big move for me considering I had only moved to the area 6 months prior but there was a yearning to share my skills so I followed it.
•
I was so hopeful that it would go well but found myself having to work long hours to cover personal and business expenses and I ran out of the energy I needed to build it to where I would have liked it to be.
•
I have therefore decided to pivot and put a pause on face-to-face services in a shop space for the time being. Online services and holistic support work will continue. Later in the year I will look into other options for face-to-face services.
•
For now I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful clients I met and treated during 2023 in my Maple St space. It was an honour to hold space and share in your journeys.
•
I’ve got a few in-person availabilities before the lease ends in early February so if you would like to see me in the flesh and have a treatment before the space closes please get in touch to set a time. Love, Maaya 💚

There are so many different fasts available, I’ve tried a few in my time but there’s one that I have been undertaking regularly and keep coming back to because it is easy and I don’t feel like I’m harming my body or starving when I do it. It’s also super cheap and feels so nourishing.

Our past affects our future on so many levels, often unconsciously.

It’s because our minds/bodies try to protect us. We forget about the things that have happened or they could have been so minor but they could be impacting on us now.

It may have been:
~ something that someone said to you.
~ an accident or physical injury.
~ a feeling or emotion that you haven’t process fully.
~ the way someone reacted to you which made you feel unsure of yourself.
~ abuse physical/psychological/emotional/sexual.
~ an incident that left an imprint on your nervous system that is still trying to keep that version of your adult self ‘safe’.

Whatever it is that happened then, it’s not serving you now and it’s impacting on your future.

There’s a book called “The body keeps the score” which outlines the way we hold on to things subconsciously till they are processed and released.

Processing can happen physically, somatically, emotionally, and Spiritually.

I’m putting a call out to any women/couples who are looking to conceive within the next couple of months to road test a new program I’m working on.
•
The program is designed to help women who may have had issues conceiving but have no medical reasons why this is the case to conceive naturally. Or for women who have been told their egg count is low or they are too old but you don’t want to go down the IVF path.
•
