We've been quiet. Here's why.

It's been a while. Over 12 months, in fact.
Like many small businesses, we reached a point where showing up consistently online felt like one demand too many — and we made a deliberate choice to step back, focus on our clients, and do the work that matters most inside the studio.

Grounded Movement is still very much here — growing, evolving, and doing what we do best. And we're ready to show up in this space again, on our own terms.

Progressive Overload is a key principle in any rehabilitation or fitness journey. It’s the notion of gradually increasing the intensity of your exercises over time to challenge your muscles and promote growth and strength. This can be done by adding more weight, increasing repetitions, enhancing the complexity of the task or reducing proprioceptive assistance.

The goal is to nudge your body slightly beyond its current capacity, allowing it to learn, adapt and progress. Progressive overload helps you avoid plateaus and encourages you to continuously progress. Implementing this principle safely and effectively is crucial.

At Grounded Movement, we use the Reformer as just one of the tools in your comprehensive Pilates program. The Reformer is a versatile piece of Pilates equipment that uses springs for adjustable resistance, making it appropriate for all fitness levels.

When used correctly and as part of a balanced Pilates workout, it helps us work on improving strength, flexibility and posture by engaging muscles in a sustained and controlled manner. With its moving carriage, foot straps, and adjustable springs, the Reformer allows for a wide range of exercises that target different muscle groups.
