The essences are made from the energetic imprint of plants and natural elements, and are designed to address specific emotional states, such as anxiety, stress, grief, and self-doubt. They are safe, gentle, and easy to use, and can be incorporated into daily self-care practices. A flower essence is a type of holistic remedy that is made from the energetic imprint of flowers. Flower essences are made by infusing the flowers in pure water and then using sunlight or other forms of energy to transfer the flower's energetic imprint into the water. This water is then preserved with a small amount of alcohol or other natural preservative and diluted into a remedy that can be taken orally or applied topically. Flower essences are not the same as essential oils or herbal remedies. Essential oils are made from the aromatic compounds of plants and are usually used in aromatherapy or topical application. Fáilte Fionn Mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool), the fourth and final essence in the Gods and Warriors of Ireland set.

Fionn Mac Cumhaill — The Wise Leader 🦉

Fionn Mac Cumhaill (pronounced “Finn McCool”) is one of Ireland’s most beloved mythic figures — a hero, poet, and leader of the Fianna, whose wisdom and courage shaped countless tales of the Fenian Cycle. His story bridges the mystical and the earthly, embodying both the strength of the warrior and the gentleness of the sage.

Born to noble lineage, Fionn was the son of Cumhaill, leader of the Fianna, and Muirne, daughter of a druid. After his father’s death, he was raised in secrecy by wise women in the wilds of Ireland — nurtured by nature and guided by deep intuition.

One of the most beloved tales connected to Fionn is his association with the Giant’s Causeway.

Legend tells that he built the great stepping-stones across the sea to face the Scottish giant Benandonner — a story that paints him not just as a warrior, but as a creator of landscapes, a shaper of the world itself.

The Causeway stands today as a reminder of his strength, wit, and the mythic scale of his presence woven into Ireland’s earth and stone.

His name “Fionn” means fair or bright, not only for his appearance but also for his enlightened mind and spirit. As a young man, he gained the Salmon of Knowledge — a mystical gift of wisdom.

When he accidentally tasted the salmon while cooking it for his mentor, he was forever changed; whenever he placed his thumb to his mouth, he could access infinite understanding.

Here we have the third flower essence from the Gods and Warriors of Ireland range.

Welcome The Dagda — The Great Father 🧙‍♂️

The Dagda (pronounced “DAHG-dah”) is one of the central gods of Irish mythology — a figure of immense power, wisdom, and heart. Known as “The Good God” not for moral perfection but for his mastery of all skills, he embodies abundance, generosity, and deep compassion. His presence looms large in the Mythological Cycle as both leader and nurturer of the Tuatha Dé Danann, guiding them with strength that is grounded in kindness and understanding.

The Dagda is often depicted as a giant of a man — strong, earthy, and jovial, with an appetite for life as vast as his heart. He wields three powerful treasures:

A great club, which can kill with one end and restore life with the other.

A cauldron of abundance, from which no one ever leaves unsatisfied.

A harp, whose music can move the seasons and stir emotion in all who hear it.

Despite his power, The Dagda’s stories are full of humanity — humour, love, and tenderness. One of his most famous tales tells of his love for the river Goddess Bóinn, with whom he fathered the poet-God Aengus Óg. To protect her honour, he held back the sun so that their tryst lasted only a single day — showing his ability to bend time itself in the service of love.

He was a warrior and protector, but also a builder, healer, and bringer of fertility and wisdom — a true father figure to gods and mortals alike.

Today I share with you the second flower essence from the Gods and Warriors of Ireland range.

This is Lugh - The Radiant One ✨

Lugh (pronounced “Loo”) is one of the brightest figures in Irish mythology — the God of Light, skill, and inspired action. Known as Lugh Lámhfhada (“Lugh of the Long Arm”), he shines in the Mythological Cycle as a bringer of balance, creativity, and mastery. His light isn’t just physical — it’s the illumination of wisdom, purpose, and potential that lives within us all.

Lugh was born to Cian of the Tuatha Dé Danann and Ethniu, daughter of Balor of the Fomorians — two opposing races representing light and darkness. This union gave Lugh his dual nature: he is both shadow and sun, destruction and creation in perfect balance.

When he first arrived at Tara, the seat of the High King, he was denied entry — the guards said only those with a special skill may enter. Lugh listed them all: warrior, poet, healer, sorcerer, harpist, craftsman, historian, and more. When the gatekeeper realised no one else possessed all these gifts, Lugh was finally welcomed in. His story reminds us that we each carry unique talents — and that our purpose is to bring them forward with confidence and grace.
He would later lead the Tuatha Dé Danann into battle against his grandfather Balor and the oppressive Fomorians, defeating Balor with a single, well-aimed spear. It was the triumph of light over tyranny, wisdom over fear.

Starting the week by introducing each of the Gods and Warriors Flower Essences individually.

Beginning with Cú Chulainn - The Sacred Warrior

Cú Chulainn (pronounced “Koo Hoo-lin”) is one of the great heroes of Irish mythology — known for his courage, fierce heart, and tragic destiny. His story comes from the Ulster Cycle, one of Ireland’s oldest mythic traditions, and it captures both the strength and the vulnerability of being human.

He was born Sétanta the son of Deichtine (sister to King Conchobhar of Ulster) and some say, the god Lugh — giving him both mortal and divine roots.

His famous name, Cú Chulainn or “Culann’s Hound,” came from an act of courage and responsibility. As a boy, he killed the guard dog of a blacksmith named Culann and feeling remorse, offered to guard the man’s home himself until a new hound could be raised.
That moment set the tone for his life — courageous, honourable, and willing to take responsibility for his actions.
As he grew, so did his gifts: superhuman strength, speed, and a fiery warrior energy called the ríastrad, or “warp spasm,” where his power would surge beyond control — both his greatest strength and his deepest challenge.

The Warrior’s Heart 🧡
Cú Chulainn’s most famous story, The Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), tells how he defended Ulster single-handedly against Queen Medb’s army.
Even against impossible odds, he fought with courage, skill, and honour — but many of his victories came with heartbreak, including the devastating battle against his foster brother, Ferdiad.

His life is a reminder that real strength often carries pain — and that heroism isn’t about being fearless, but about showing up even when the heart breaks.

I’m now only a couple of weeks away from sharing the results of a very special project — one I’ve been quietly working on for quite some time, but have been envisioning for much longer.

To be completely transparent, this has been a deeply challenging journey — not only because of the interruptions and obstacles along the way, but also because of the personal nature of what this project explores. It’s the first time in my life as a flower essence practitioner and therapist that I’ve felt stretched in this particular way.

Yet as the moment of unveiling draws near, I’ve become more certain than ever that this offering is needed — perhaps even essential — for a particular group of people navigating the unique pressures of our modern world.
