As we have had a few enquiries from our patients about the difficulty of sourcing QV light moisturising cream. Here it is! QV have rebranded it as an Eczema daily cream however it is still the same formula and can be applied as previously. It is available in the usual places, we've seen in a couple of the local pharmacies. Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

Hello all!

You may already be aware by now but we have been making big changes to Mandurah Oedema! The website has been given a little cosmetic lift and our services have been transferred to Telehealth and referral services, if you are interested please take a look at https://www.mandurahoedema.com.au.

Now available from MOC, StrataXRT for the treatment of radiation dermatitis.

StrataXRT is a self-drying, non-sticky, transparent, wound dressing in the form of a gel that lightly bonds to the most superficial damaged skin layer. It was specifically developed for the prevention and treatment of radiation dermatitis.

StrataXRT dries to form a thin, flexible wound dressing which hydrates and protects affected skin areas. It has no measurable pH value which is why it does not affect the fragile acid mantle of the skin. The gel helps to promote a moist wound healing environment for widespread superficial wounds and burns.

This moist wound healing environment promotes faster re-epithelialization* and significantly reduces the skin’s acute inflammatory response seen with both dry and wet desquamation from radiation dosing or first and second degree burns.

We have obviously been watching the Corona virus situation very carefully and believe the time has come to temporarily close our clinic to visits. We will however continue to provide support and consultation services to anyone who needs it via our new MOC TeleHealth Service using Facetime or Skype.

This new service aims to help you manage your lymphoedema till our full clinic service resumes and will include initial consultations & where suitable, garment prescription, an important defence against lymphoedema.

For garment fitting, all you will need is a tape measure and someone to assist you then we can go through the measurement process together on screen. We will then either deliver your garment to your door or arrange postage delivery from our stock.

We will also be very happy to provide self care advice to help everyone to manage their conditions and will be posting a number of self care fact sheets on the library page along with links to other sources of advice.

Most lymphoedema sufferers are in the vulnerable category for the corona virus and we want you to know that you are not being left out in the cold, we are here to help and available to you at the end of the phone or screen until our clinic opens again.
