What is the relationship between health conditions and disability? 🤔📊
Health conditions and disability share a dynamic, two-way relationship. Chronic conditions can cause disabilities, while living with a disability can trigger further health issues.
Dynamic interaction: Disability is shaped by health, environment (accessibility, attitudes), and personal factors (age, s*x).
Unique experiences: Two people with the identical health diagnosis can experience completely different levels of disability.
High coexistence: Half of all people with a major chronic condition also have a disability, rising to 78% for emphysema and 64% for stroke.

Looking Beneath the Surface of Big Feelings: The Anger Iceberg 🧊
When a child experiences anger, what we see on the outside—like yelling, screaming, or kicking—is often just the tip of the iceberg.
In reality, there are deeper, hidden feelings beneath the surface driving that behaviour. They might actually be feeling Fear, Rejection, Guilt, Frustration, Worry or Disappointment.
Understanding what is happening underneath helps us respond with empathy and support. 💙

🎨✨ Colouring gives children a safe way to express their inner world. ✨🎨
When children lead their own art journey, they can safely show us what is happening internally.
📊 1. Mapping Big Feelings – Let them colour "how much" of each feeling they carry.🎨 2. Bringing Emojis to Life – Assign colours to unique emotions (e.g., yellow = happy, blue = sad).
✏️ 3. Colour Wheel Practice – Blend pencil tints to build mindful focus and fine motor skills.
❤️ 4. Gratitude Hearts – Colour divided sections of a heart for things they are thankful for.
Art is communication, regulation, and healing all wrapped into one. 🖌️

Guiding our children through big emotions can feel overwhelming.
When your child is struggling, hold space for these quiet truths:
🦁 Courage: They can move forward through hard feelings.
🧭 Control: They are learning to navigate what happens next.
🏆 Worth: They are worthy of great things, even on tough days.
🛡️ Support: They can achieve anything when they feel safe.
❤️ Love: They need to know they are deeply appreciated.
🌱 Growth: They are learning from every single mistake.
By staying calm, you teach them how to find their own peace.

🧠❤️ Caring for a child’s mental well-being is just as vital as looking after their physical health.
3 simple ways to support the little ones in your life:
🧩Promote healthy routines & playtime – Give them structure and space to express themselves.
🏡 Provide a safe, supportive environment – Build their resilience with love and acceptance.
💬 Encourage open talks about feelings – Normalize sharing big emotions without judgment.

🌙 Let’s talk about bedwetting (Enuresis)⭐😴
If your child is struggling, remember: it is a medical developmental stage, not a behavioural issue!
There are two main types:
👉 Night time only (MNE): Can be lifelong or return suddenly due to triggers like stress or constipation.
👉 Night time + Daytime symptoms (NMNE): Includes daytime accidents, sudden urgency, or trouble urinating.
If your child is dealing with daytime symptoms or significant distress, seeking a professional assessment can help identify underlying causes and get your family the right support.

We shouldn't have to prioritize trauma over creativity. 🗣️💡✨
While social media builds warm, vibrant disability communities, it also creates a hidden pressure: The Performance of Disability. Too often, creators feel forced to display medical vulnerabilities just to satisfy online trends for visibility. Let's support disabled creators for their skills, talent, and voice—not just the hardships they face. 🎨💪
