We were humbled to be recognised in this month’s Southern Forests Volunteers newsletter as part of NAIDOC Week.

Volunteering has always been at the heart of Healing Legacy Indigenous Corporation. Like so many organisations across our region, HLIC simply wouldn’t exist without people willing to give their time, skills and hearts to the community.

A huge thank you to Southern Forests Volunteers for the recognition and for the incredible work they do supporting volunteers throughout our region.

We’re also grateful to everyone who came along to the first Fire, Food & Yarn – Community Winter Gathering. It was wonderful to see people of all ages and backgrounds sharing a meal, gathering around the fire and simply spending time together.

We now look forward to welcoming the community back for our second Fire, Food & Yarn gathering on Thursday 23 July at the Manjimup Timber Park.

Together, we’re building stronger families, healthier communities and a thriving future for our people.

🔥 The fire is being lit again.

Over the past two years, Healing Legacy Indigenous Corporation has been quietly working behind the scenes—strengthening our governance, building partnerships and preparing the foundations for what we hope will become something that serves our community for many years to come.

We invite you to come join us for this event,

Fire, Food & Yarn …

A warm fire.
A shared meal.
Good conversation.

Just people taking time to slow down, meet someone new, reconnect with old friends and enjoy a winter evening together.

Whether you’re Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal, young or old, coming on your own or bringing the family…

There is a place around the fire for you.

‼️ Trauma Informed Care and Practice ‼️

SAC Albany staff will go through training for next three days ( 11-13th December). Our Albany office will be CLOSED for 3 days for staff training. We will monitor the calls and respond to you if it is urgent. Our staff are excited about this training. Training in the workplace allows employees to develop skills and knowledge that will help them perform their jobs better.

Our CEO, Asha Bhat met with lovely trainers Bianca from Warida Wholistic Wellness and Matt from Healing Legacy today to have a yarn.

Thank you to We Al-li Programs for arranging this training for our staff and community.
