Great to get the QLD RCMs together! 🙌

We’re fortunate to cross paths regularly, but nothing beats setting aside focused time to really connect.
Hearing what’s working, what’s challenging, and what our practitioner teams need most is invaluable and these conversations are where the best ideas start.

That’s a wrap on Ready Set Connect Ipswich! 🎬✨
Ciann, our Regional Clinical Manager, and Brittany from the Ipswich team, loved the opportunity to sit down face-to-face with local Support Coordinators yesterday and talk all things Positive Behaviour Support.

What makes this work so meaningful is that we’re not supporting Ipswich from a distance, our practitioners live and work right here in the community.

With two dedicated practitioners on the ground, we meet participants where they are, take the time to genuinely listen, and work alongside them to build a clear, achievable pathway towards their goals.

📬 Looking for behaviour support in Ipswich? We’d love to connect.

We know how frustrating it is to open a support plan for your child and feel like the person who wrote it never actually met your family.

At CPBS, we believe the best strategies don’t just come from a textbook but they come from listening to you and find solutions that meet your family's needs. You are the expert on your child, we’re just here to give you the clinical roadmap to make life smoother.

Meet Craig, our local Georgetown specialist! They are permanently based right here in town, meaning they are a real part of your community.

Why having a completely local practitioner changes things for your family:
✔️ In-Home Assessments: Craig visits you in your real environment, where life actually happens.
✔️ Hands-on Support: Real-time, face-to-face training for you, your child's teachers, and your support workers.

Whether your goal is a peaceful morning routine, helping your child make friends at school, or simply finding a moment of calm in your week, Craig is ready to walk alongside you.

Some of the faces behind our Adelaide clinical team. 🤝✨

Our founders, Kylie and Geoff, along with our CEO Lindsay, sat down with our Adelaide Regional Clinical Managers and Jacqueline our Head of Regional Services. It was so wonderful to have the team together in one room to share wins and plan for the future of CPBS in South Australia.

Research is important, but it’s in moments like these that we stay connected - supporting one another and making sure our Adelaide team has what they need to provide high‑quality behaviour support.

Behind every practitioner in the field is a skilled and committed team, working to ensure each participant’s roadmap is clear, safe, and thoughtfully delivered.

Adelaide we are growing and ready to support you!

Is your Behaviour Support Plan actually working for your family?

We know how frustrating it is to receive a support plan that feels like it was written for someone else. At CPBS, we have been recognised as "The First Centre of Excellence" (swipe to see what the NDIS auditors said about our work in 2025! ✨).

We want every family to feel empowered. That’s why we’ve put together this guide on the 5 Red Flags to look for. Whether you are in Brisbane, Victoria, Tasmania or anywhere else in Australia, your plan should be person-centered, data-driven, and easy for your team to use.

💬 Which of these have you experienced?
Let’s chat in the comments.

Today we’re introducing you to Selina, Amelia, and Kym, the dedicated team that helps bridge the gap between "needing help" and "getting started."

Did you know that up to 70% of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lives?

Our very own Dr. Rebecca Beights, Matthew Spicer, and Dr. Geoff Potter have co-authored on this work, alongside national and international colleagues.

The article encourages a shift toward Trauma-Informed PBS (TI-PBS). This means practitioners shouldn’t just look at what is happening right now to trigger a behaviour. Instead, we must consider a person’s entire history.

By creating environments that feel safe and giving individuals more control over their own lives, we can:

Reduce the need for challenging behaviours.
Improve overall quality of life.
Foster true safety and trust.

At CPBS, we pride ourselves on staying at the forefront of research. Having our team contribute to these global conversations ensures we aren't just following current standards, we are actively building a better future in behaviour support. We envision a world where every individual is understood, respected, and supported through a lens of compassion and history.

✈️ On the road last week and feeling energised

Last week, Kylie Potter and Geoff Potter had the chance to travel to Adelaide and Melbourne to spend time with our Regional Clinical Managers. It was such a valuable opportunity to step away from screens, sit together in person, and really check in on how things are tracking on the ground.

We left feeling genuinely energised by the ideas, insight, and thoughtful conversations shared, not to mention proud of the care, leadership, and innovation our RCMs continue to bring to their teams and regions.
Thank you for the open dialogue, honest reflections, and commitment to making CPBS better every day. These moments of connection remind us why staying close, listening well, and learning together matters 🧡

Your goals aren’t just boxes to tick. They’re the life you want to lead. ✨

Behaviour support isn’t about "fixing" people, it's more about opening doors. Whether that goal is as big as moving out or as personal as navigating a trip to the local supermarket without stress, we’re here to help you get there, no matter your goal.

Our practitioners focus on building the skills and environments that make those "impossible" goals feel within reach.
