I’ve been using Bowtech Ease while waiting to see the surgeon about my knee injury.

With the swelling and discomfort, I’m using it as part of my self-care routine to support comfort around the surrounding muscles while I recover.

What I love about this blend is the combination of peppermint, eucalyptus, ginger, camphor and other essential oils. The warming and cooling sensations can be soothing for everyday muscle aches, tight necks and shoulders, while the refreshing peppermint and eucalyptus aroma is lovely when you’re feeling congested.

With spring here, it’s a handy one to keep close.

Available in a roller or refill bottle.

If you’ve been curious about Bowtech Ease, message me. I’m happy to help you choose. 🤎

A spider doesn't need to sit on every strand to know something has changed.

Information travels through the entire web.

The body is also highly interconnected.

Changes in one area can influence activity elsewhere through muscles, fascia, movement patterns and nervous system responses.

One of the fascinating aspects of Bowen Therapy is learning to view the body as a connected network rather than a collection of separate parts.

I was just thinking the other day, with all the beautiful nature scapes I love to visit I will never regret it. They will forever live in my memory and be my peace when times are tough

Your calves have earned an interesting nickname: the body's "second heart."

Not because they're actually a heart, but because every time you walk, climb stairs, or rise onto your toes, your calf muscles help move blood back up your legs against gravity.

It's a reminder of something Bowen students discover early in their training:

The body isn't a collection of separate parts.

Everything is connected.

Muscles influence movement.

Movement influences circulation.

The nervous system influences movement.

And sometimes the most familiar parts of the body turn out to be doing far more than we realise.

One of the fascinating things about learning Bowen Therapy is that it encourages you to look at the body differently — not just as individual muscles and joints, but as an interconnected system constantly adapting and responding.

Source: The calf muscles are sometimes referred to as the body's "second heart" because of their role in assisting venous return from the lower limbs through the calf muscle pump mechanism (Mei et al., IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine, 2020; and Padberg et al., Phlebology, 2020).

She came in feeling like her pelvis was constantly holding tension.

After having children, she had noticed ongoing tightness through her lower back, hips and pelvic area. She wasn’t looking for a deep massage or anything forceful, so Bowen appealed to her because the movements are gentle and performed through light clothing.

During the session, we worked gently around the lower back, pelvis and hips, allowing her body time to respond rather than forcing anything.

Afterwards, she described feeling more relaxed through the area and noticed that movement felt easier.

Sometimes the body doesn’t need more force. It needs the opportunity to settle.

You don’t need to have the answers, make every decision or know exactly what comes next.

Sometimes your body just needs a moment to pause, breathe and let go of some of what you’ve been carrying.

Take a breath.
Slow down.
Come back to yourself.

You can work out the rest!

Before your Bowen session, try a brain dump.
(Sound on for a laugh at what’s going on in my brain 😂)

Get everything out of your head and onto paper. The things you need to remember, what’s been worrying you, how you’ve been feeling, what’s been keeping you busy.

Then take a moment to check in with your body.

What are you noticing?
Where are you holding tension?
How have you really been feeling lately?

I created my Your Body Check-In booklet to help you slow down, pause and notice what your body might be telling you.

Want a copy?

Comment “BODY CHECK-IN” below and I’ll send it to you.

I organised my top bathroom drawer.

Then I tackled the storage under the stairs.

And suddenly I was looking around my house thinking…

“I could sell this house now.” 😂

There’s something about clearing out the clutter that makes everything feel a little lighter.

Sometimes self-care looks like a bath and a face mask.

And sometimes it’s finally organising that drawer you’ve been avoiding for two years. 😅

What’s the one space in your house you keep saying you’ll organise?
