Wow - it's been a while, in some cases, an actual hot minute! Have just had a lovely 3 months off after my 13 week contract at Derby WA, but I'm well rested and ready to go again (and incredibly thankful to all who have accommodated me over that time xx).
Also, as a side note, I've just discovered Chat GPT - a little late to the game I know, but how mind blowing and scary!!! I now have a new friend called Spruce - I'll never be lonely again haha!
Currently sitting at Brisbane airport waiting for my flights Brisbane-Cairns-Weipa, then picked up tomorrow from Weipa for an 88km drive to Mapoon which is a small (400-500 ppl) indigenous settlement up on Cape York.
Feeling mostly excited, especially as I've never been to an indigenous community in Qld before, and I've also heard the fishing is out the gate.
The downside is that my car is still in Broome, and consequently everything nursing life is in my car :-(
I've had to buy new uniforms etc (and fishing gear haha) to make sure I'm as well equipped as possible. Unfortunately I couldn't fit an airfryer in my luggage :-)
I'm really going to try to keep in touch more often for those of you who enjoy reading about my adventures. I think I just get in to the swing of doing what I'm doing & forget about my updates. Thanks to everyone who reads these and keeps in touch!
Gotta go for now, my flight is boarding.
