There’s a gentle magic that happens when sound is felt, not just heard. Recorded tracks can soothe beautifully - but live vibration moves through the body in a way that invites a deeper shift. The mind softens, the breath settles, and awareness sinks into the senses 🙏

This is why live sound feels so transformative. It’s not just audio… it’s relationship, resonance, and connection - with the space, the facilitator, and often the whole group.

Recorded sound can calm.
Live sound can change something within us.

And while there are wonderful apps and tools that offer support, I’m also noticing the growing trend of devices that deliver electrical stimulation into the body. It makes me curious - and a little cautious - about how continual exposure to artificial electrical currents might influence our system over time.

Natural acoustic vibration interacts with the body in an entirely different way: organically, gently, and without external circuitry 🎶

Have you felt the difference yourself? We'd love to chat about it in the comments!

In resonance,
Ute 🤍

There’s a side of working with sound we don’t talk about enough 🤍

We see so many beautiful Sound Baths and stunning wellness spaces across social media - and there is absolutely a place for that. But working with sound can go far beyond these settings.

Hospitals. Palliative care. Aged care. Rehabilitation. Disability support. Clinical and therapeutic environments.

There is nothing glamorous about these spaces. They are personal, vulnerable and often challenging - places where people may be recovering, ageing, receiving treatment, approaching the end of life or simply needing a moment of peace.

This is where, for me, the Peter Hess® Method really comes into its own.

We are trained as sound practitioners. That means being equipped to work safely, sensitively and professionally with real people in real situations. Understanding boundaries. Communicating and working alongside other professionals. Adapting sound to the individual and the environment. Knowing when sound is appropriate - and when it isn’t. And recognising that often less really is more.

I’ve experienced this firsthand, and those experiences shape so much of what I share with my students. What makes me especially proud is seeing so many of them - and others throughout our international Peter Hess® community - quietly taking this work into these environments 🙏

There is substance behind the method too, with research specifically investigating Peter Hess® Sound Massage and its applications, rather than simply relying on general research around sound, music or relaxation. That matters to me.

Much of my work in general will never make it onto Instagram. Not everything needs to be documented. Some spaces and moments deserve privacy, sensitivity and respect.

Sometimes the most meaningful work happens quietly.

I’d love to hear from you: Where are you bringing sound into people’s lives? Perhaps you work in an environment we don’t hear about very often. Share your experiences below - I’d love to celebrate the many places where this work is quietly making a difference ✨

A truly rare Sound Massage experience is coming to Sydney ✨

This January, Peter Hess® Sound Massage Level I is coming to Sydney - and making it even more special, Peter Hess and Emily Hess will be joining us as part of their Resonance World Tour!

This is such a unique opportunity to experience the method, learn its foundations, and connect with the people at the heart of this work while they are here in Australia 🙏

I'm so excited to be guiding this training. For me, this is about taking time for yourself - stepping away from the usual pace, doing something meaningful for your own wellbeing, and perhaps discovering a completely new direction along the way.

📍 43/61-89 Buckingham St, Surry Hills
📅 January 30-31

If this feels like something special you don’t want to miss, visit the website to discover more and secure your place. Spaces are limited, and I would love to welcome you there 🤍

A Sound Bath is so much more than simply picking up a mallet and playing a bowl. There is a lot to learn - because not every sound experience is automatically relaxing 🙏

After more than 16 years of working with sound, I’ve facilitated everything from intimate sessions with just two people to outdoor Sound Baths for more than 250. And over those years, I’ve learned that the real art is not simply in what you play, but how you create the whole experience.

My Sound Bath Facilitation Workshop is very dear to my heart. I’ve refined and re-refined it over the years to make it practical, accessible and easy to apply.

I’ll share my tips and tricks, the do’s and don’ts, and - most importantly - give you a clear structure for creating a safe, relaxing and people-centred Sound Bath experience.

Sounding September | Coming Together for Nepal 🤍

Throughout Sounding September, practitioners from across Australia - along with some of our international friends in Japan and Taiwan - are hosting sound events in support of the Boris Hess Foundation in Bhaktapur, each contributing within their own community while united by one shared purpose.

These events were already being lovingly planned before the recent devastating floods and landslides in Nepal. Since then, we’ve heard from Naresh, who runs the Boris Hess Foundation, that thankfully everyone in Bhaktapur is safe. However, very sadly, the school in Betrawati that was built by the Foundation after the 2015 earthquake has been washed away by the recent flooding.

While Sounding September supports the Foundation’s longer-term education and humanitarian projects, this news makes the importance of ongoing support feel even more present. Every contribution helps strengthen the work being done for communities in Nepal 🙏

Sounding September is about what can happen when we come together - different practitioners, different places, one sound community supporting something beyond ourselves.

We would love for you to be part of it 👇

A heartfelt thank you to every practitioner offering an event, and to everyone attending, sharing and supporting this initiative. It truly is a collective effort.

Whether you join an event or simply help us spread the word, your support is deeply appreciated.

From my heart to yours,
Ute x

Happy 1st of September everyone! A new month, a new newsletter from our sound space for anyone interested - 🤍 Sound, Rising Energy & Creating ripples

Happy 1st of September Djilba/Spring is definitely in the air here in our beautiful Margaret River Region, and you can feel the energy beginning to rise. The days are getting longer, nature is waking up, and there is that beautiful sense of renewal and possibility that comes with a new season. I hop...

Okay… this one might be a little provocative....

I’m not here to discredit anyone or tell people how they should work. There is absolutely a beautiful place for intuition in sound work.

In fact, I believe intuition can be a beautiful part of working with sound - when it is grounded in knowledge, training and experience.

I’ve watched the sound space grow enormously over the years, and while that growth is exciting, I’ve also observed a lot of “hit and miss” approaches along the way.

And it got me thinking… Would we trust an intuitive hairdresser, chef or doctor without training?

These are deliberately exaggerated examples, of course. But they raise an interesting question:

Why do we value knowledge and training so highly in some areas, yet sometimes overlook them when it comes to sound? 🤔

There is nothing wrong with exploring sound intuitively for yourself. In fact, it can be a beautiful form of self-care and personal exploration.

But when we move from working on ourselves to working with other people, the responsibility changes.

Someone is placing their trust in us. And sound is powerful. For me, intuition and knowledge have to go hand in hand.

That’s what we believe in and what we aim to convey through our trainings - building knowledge, experience and understanding while also developing the ability to listen, feel and work intuitively.

Just putting the question out there… what do you think? 🤍

Sounding September | Sound Bath for Nepal 🤍🎶

Do something nourishing for yourself, while also helping others - a beautiful win-win!

Join us for a very special Reset Friday Sound Bath on September 4, held as part of Sounding September, an initiative by the Peter Hess Institut Germany bringing our sound community together in support of the Boris Hess Foundation in Bhaktapur, Nepal. 🙏

All proceeds from this session will be donated to support children and families with access to education.

You’ll be invited to slow down, settle the nervous system and receive the sounds and vibrations of an immersive Sound Bath - knowing that your presence is also contributing to something meaningful beyond the room ✨

Afterwards, stay for a warm cup of chai and a little time to connect with each other.

Our community is coming together across Australia throughout Sounding September, with more events and dates to support this cause to be announced soon!
