🐠 Myth About Fascia 🐟

People often think that fascia is like glue because it’s the connective tissue that holds everything together. However, this is an oversimplification to a complex system that is actually very much alive, dynamic and constantly changing. It’s not a passive wall of plastic.

Sea Anemone will flow & dance with the tide of the ocean until it sees a potential threat and then it becomes reclusive and retracts back. Your fascia is kind of like that! It is constantly responding to stimulus. You jump -> it creates tension to offer support to your body. You are taking the stairs -> it will tone. You are in fight or flight -> it will tone. You are living in a state of fight or flight -> it will tone and stay there because it’s protecting you.

Interesting fact, fascia has more sensory nerves then muscle. A sensory nerve picks up on stimulus like touch, temperature, pain and changes to the environment. Fascia is extremely woven into the nervous system.

All of it leads me the fact that if you have discomfort or dysfunction in the body, anywhere, then yes we absolutely need to create mobility, length, stability and awareness -> but it would be a wise move to also address the fascia.

The image below gives you an idea of where some of the fascia in our body is, but honestly, it's intertwined around everything. Every vessel, organ, muscle, etc.

Research on geranium EO found it was active against several Candida species—including one that is naturally resistant to the common antifungal drug fluconazole.

Even more interesting, it didn't just slow fungal growth. It also reduced the fungus's ability to:
• Stick to tissues
• Invade cells
• Form protective biofilms
• Release enzymes that contribute to damage

Additionally, it showed good selectivity, meaning it was much less harmful to healthy cells under the study conditions.

This research is another reminder that plant compounds deserve serious scientific attention. Nature is full of medicine. Science helps us understand how to use it wisely.

Just because change isn’t immediately visible doesn’t mean nothing is occurring.

The nervous system is constantly receiving and adjusting.

Fascia is constantly responding to load and tension.

Some of the most important shifts may happen before anything can be seen or felt clearly.

Bowen Therapy works within that space between input and obvious change.
