Why Assistive Technology matters.
Mobility is so much more than getting from A to B.
For kids whose bodies move differently, the world can feel just out of reach. Other kids run, climb and explore. They wait for someone to bring the world to them.
Assistive technology can change that.
Research tells us early access to mobility devices supports more than movement. It boosts cognitive, social, language and emotional development too. And the magic is in three big areas:
1. Access. The playroom, the park, the friend across the room. Suddenly all within reach.
2. Participation. Instead of being brought to the activity, your child can join in on their own terms. Move closer. Move away. Come back when they're ready.
3. Peer engagement. Kids learn so much from other kids. Assistive technology puts your child right in the middle of the play, eye to eye with their mates.
Assistive technology doesn't replace other movement goals. It runs alongside them, so your child can build skills and engage with the world at the same time.
