• Demonstrated experience using Best Practice software
• Experience managing appointments, patient records and enquiries
• Strong administration, communication and customer-service skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality

• Reliable, organised and professional manner
Experience with Medicare billing, referrals, recalls and medical correspondence will be highly regarded.

Jema Support Services is seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers for an immediate start in the Maryborough and Hervey Bay areas.

We are looking for people who are genuinely committed to providing respectful, person-centred support and helping participants achieve greater independence, choice and community connection.

Available work may include:

🎧 Sensory Overload – What It Can Look Like

Sensory overload happens when the brain receives more sensory information than it can comfortably process.

It may look like:

🔹 Covering the ears or eyes
🔹 Becoming quiet or withdrawn
🔹 Irritability, distress or frustration
🔹 Difficulty communicating
🔹 Needing to leave or find a calm space

Everyone experiences sensory overload differently. What may seem like “difficult behaviour” could be someone communicating that their environment has become overwhelming.

💜 Be patient. Reduce noise, lights or other stimulation where possible. Offer a calm space and ask the person what would help—without pressure or judgement.

Your support provider should not discuss or share your personal information simply because you receive disability supports. Information should only be collected when it is needed and shared with your consent, unless there is a serious safety concern or a legal requirement.

You have the right to:

📄 Ask to see your support records
🚪 Have your privacy respected in your home and community
❓ Question why someone needs access to your information
