WOW, how cool is the new 'Little Library' at the State Library of SA! 📚

Designed for kids 0–11 and built to be welcoming and accessible.

🔹 Interactive & Sensory Play: Combines books with hands-on play, sensory discovery, and storytelling areas.
🔹 Brain & Literacy Boost: Built using research from Words Grow Minds to make learning through play easy for every child.

Best of all, it's 100% free to visit and borrow books through the City of Adelaide library system. The space is located entirely on the ground floor of the library's Spence Wing! 📚

Where do you go when you or someone you support suddenly becomes unwell? 😐

When it’s after hours or you’re away from home, it isn’t always obvious and in that moment you shouldn’t have to work it out from scratch. 🏥

We’ve put together a simple, save-able guide to getting the right care across Adelaide. This includes emergency, urgent care, pharmacy, health advice and communication support broken down by area: South, North, West and the Adelaide Hills.

A few things worth knowing:
• In an emergency, always call 000.
• Medicare Urgent Care Clinics are walk-in, no appointment, bulk-billed — for urgent things that aren’t life-threatening.
• Priority Care Centres also help, but by referral (through an emergency department, SA Ambulance or a GP).
• SA has four 24/7 pharmacies statewide.

Save this post and share it with your team, family, or the people you support. It matters most when things move fast you don’t have to navigate it alone. 🫶🏼

NDIS UPDATE: A small check today might save time on your next NDIS call.

The NDIA announced additional identity checks on 10 August 2026 to strengthen the protection of participant information against fraud and identity misuse.

What does this mean for you?

When you contact the NDIS, you might be asked to confirm a one-time code sent to the mobile number or email address recorded on your account.

The NDIA might also complete these checks when calling you if you ask them to update personal information. Additional security questions might apply in some circumstances.

A useful step to take now:

Check whether your mobile number and email address are current.

Participants and approved nominees should update their contact information through the NDIS participant portals. Providers should update their details through the myplace provider portal.

Keeping your details current should help make the identity-check process smoother when you next need to speak with the NDIS.

Please share this update with an NDIS participant, family member, nominee, support coordinator or provider who might find the reminder useful.

For allied health enquiries, including Psychology and Positive Behaviour Support, speak with Arise Allied Health on 0481 092 861.

♿🏖️ A new beach access mat will be trialled at Christies Beach this summer, helping make it easier for people with disability, reduced mobility and others to reach the hard sand and water’s edge.

The temporary mat will be installed at the base of the Beach Road access ramp, complementing the existing accessible pathway. Installation is expected to begin in November and take approximately one week.

Council will assess how the mat performs in local beach conditions and gather community feedback to help inform future accessible beach infrastructure. 🌊
