๐ŸŒ€ The importance of emotion has been pushed into the background in todayโ€™s world. We have learned to manage it, suppress it and shut it down rather than feel it.

But emotion is not separate from us, itโ€™s how we experience life, and shutting our emotional world down has consequences.

When emotional experience is consistently held back, it doesnโ€™t disappear. It builds pressure in the system and shows up in other ways.

In my sessions we work with emotional experience as something present in the body.

Radix Somatic Work includes building real capacity to feel emotion without becoming overwhelmed by it.

As capacity grows, people often notice more connection, presence, choice and aliveness in their life.

Iโ€™ve been working under the name Equus & Awareness for some time, primarily focusing on equine-facilitated therapy and horse-centred relational work.

This work with horses has not only helped me support others through their own journey, but allowed me to deepen my own understanding of myself.
ย 
The horses have helped me to connect with my purpose and given me clarity on how I wish to move through the world. So, as I have evolved, so has my work and its container.
ย 
I now work as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, integrating both Somatic Body-Based Therapy and Equine Therapy through my practice, InBalance Therapies.
ย 
At the heart of this work, the focus is:
supporting balance through relational and embodied work.
ย 
Whether we are in the presence of horses, or in the therapy room I work with the same process. A process of supporting awareness of what is happening in the body & mind and in the present moment, and allowing the nervous system to shift through safety, connection and attunement.
ย 
This space will now reflect the wider scope of that work and I look forward to sharing more.
