Three tips for your first support session:

This video helps:
- Participants identify who a good worker is
- Support workers quickly build rapport and feel confident doing it

We’re excited to partner with Meeting Place to launch our new NDIS social group Keen Teens (15–25), starting soon in McLaren Vale Meeting Place McLaren Vale

Got an NDIS teen or young adult (15–25) south of Adelaide who’s lonely, bored at home and wants real-life friends?

We’re starting Keen Teens – a small, screen-free social group for NDIS teens & young adults (15–25). Run by I’m Able, hosted at Meeting Place in McLaren Vale.

It’s for young people who:
- Want to meet new people in a no-judgement space
- Feel lonely, bored or isolated at home
- Want to build confidence talking to others
- Want to practise real-life social skills in a gentle way

What happens:
- Once a fortnight, 2-hour sessions
- At the café, no phones during group time
- Start with games + “speed friendships”
- Over time, add simple role-play activities to practise social skills and reading social cues
- 2 support workers (1:4 group support) and a max of 6–8 participants

Who it’s NOT for (so we can keep it safe and calm):
- Under 15s, Over 25s
- Young people who currently need ongoing 1:1 or 2:1 behaviour/safety support in community settings. It’s okay to bring a support worker or parent at first to help settle in. Our longer‑term goal is that they can join in more independently in a small group, with our 2 group workers there for support.
- Crisis / behaviour support needs that require a specialised service

Over time, our aim is that young people:
- Feel less isolated and more hopeful
- Learn how to make and keep friendships
- Feel more comfortable in their own skin
- Have something to look forward to every fortnight

NDIS & cost:
- Sessions are billed to NDIS as group-based social/community participation (1:4 ratio) for eligible participants
- Food & drinks (toasties, smoothies, hot chocolates) are optional extras from the café menu

👉 We’re starting with a small foundation group of 6–8 and already have 5 young people interested.

November is here and many young lads, including one of our long time clients, Jack - are taking part in the Movember Challenge to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health.

Jack has absolutely smashed it, already TRIPLING his donation goal, and we could not be prouder of him! His dedication to breaking the stigma around men’s mental health is truly inspiring.

If you’d like to support Jack as he continues making a real difference, you can donate using the link in our Instagram bio 💛

Great job Jack, we are all so proud of you!

Big news from the l’m Able family! 💛
We’re so excited to share that we’ve taken on a new local venture - Meeting Place Café, right here in the heart of McLaren Vale ☕️
This beautiful little café already had a strong community spirit, and we’re so proud to continue that - creating a space where everyone feels welcome.
Meeting Place Café is not just about great food and coffee (though there’s plenty of that!) - it’s also a place for connection, inclusivity, and opportunity.
You’ll even see some of our l’m Able clients learning skills and gaining experience in the café &
And exciting news - from Saturday, November 1, we’ll be open on Saturdays! 🎉
Pop in, say hi, and grab a coffee — we’d love to see you there
📍Meeting Place Café - 162 Main Road, McLaren Vale
🕙Now open weekdays 9-5 | Saturdays from Nov 1
