PATIENT UPDATE

For the next 30 days, we’re trailing Mediqo to assist us with an AI Phone Receptionist and the management of medical documents.

Mediqo patient data is fully encrypted and hosted within Australia and is compliant with healthcare data protocols and security/compliance frameworks.

We welcome your feedback over the next month and we’ll be closely monitoring the successes of this trial as well as any issues we encounter.

Exciting news!

Last night we had a fabulous evening at the Port Stephens Local Business Awards. Thanks to the ongoing support of our patients and the hard work of our dedicated team, we were honoured to be acknowledged as a Finalist in the Most Outstanding Health Improvement Services category.

Our Assistant-in-Nursing and receptionist, Sibella, was also a Finalist in the Most Outstanding Young Person category. We were a little sneaky in keeping her nomination a secret. 😂 Sibella was nominated due to her hard work and drive for ongoing learning and professional development. Sibella is finger-tips away from passing her nursing degree by the end of 2026. Sibella has continually sought out opportunities to further herself and gain a broad understanding of the healthcare industry, not just with us at Peppertree, but also our neighbour pharmacy and a clinic in Newcastle offering procedural work and experience. This is something that is commendable. Sibella’s reliability, flexibility and work ethic have made her an asset to us at Peppertree GP and the community we serve. I have no doubt she will make a fabulous registered nurse in the future. Congratulations Sibella.

The highlight for all of us came right at the end of the evening where our very own Dr Mohammed (Director, Principal GP and GP Registrar Supervisor) won Port Stephens Most Outstanding Business Person 2026!!! This award is testament to Dr Mohammed’s leadership and support of and trust in his staff’s professional development and his drive for continuous improvement and clinical excellence. Congratulations Dr Mohammed!

On Wednesday, we look forward to welcoming Dr Sandra Wang to Peppertree GP. Dr Sandra will be joining us in a locum capacity. You can book appointments with Dr Sandra through HotDoc.

Dr Sandra graduated from the University of New South Wales, completing a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMed)/Doctor of Medicine (MD) with distinction.

While she enjoys the variety offered by General Practice, her special interests are in palliative medicine, women’s health, and paediatric medicine.

She has established track-record of delivering high-quality patient care across various NSW, ACT and VIC healthcare services, and applies strong communication and clinical skills to provide comprehensive, individualised, and patient-focused healthcare to her patients.

Congratulations to Dr Saira Chandio who has passed Part 1 of her Fellowship exams! 🥳 This is a huge milestone in her career and we are very proud of her.

You might be thinking, what is Fellowship?

Peppertree GP is an accredited training site for Registrar GPs on their journey to Fellowship. Fellowship signifies being qualified as a specialist General Practitioner. Registrars are qualified doctors, many with years of experience in hospitals and sometimes with specialist qualifications in other areas, who have chosen to train as specialist GPs. They work under the supervision of an accredited supervisor (who is also Fellowed), until they have met all the training requirements and passed all their exams. We are extremely blessed to part of that journey and help foster clinical excellence in the next generation of GPs.

Peppertree GP and GreenHills Health Hub is joining communities across Australia in celebrating National NAIDOC Week from 6-12 July. For five decades, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices, cultures, achievements and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while creating space for truth-telling, recognition and pride. This year's theme is 50 Years of Deadly, marking half a century since Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples took full control of the NAIDOC committee and expanded a single day of protest into a week-long celebration.

Today we congratulate Dr Madeeha Sajid for passing her Advanced Specialised Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology exam. This is a significant moment in Dr Madeeha’s career after many years of experience in the hospital setting.

Dr Madeeha is passionate about Women’s Health and Antenatal Care. She is available for appointments at both Peppertree GP and GreenHills Health Hub. She offers Shared Antenatal Care with John Hunter Hospital, making antenatal care accessible to women in the primary care setting.
