This October, there’s something bigger to ride for. 🚲

United Energy Around the Bay by Bicycle Network is back on Sunday 18 October, bringing thousands of riders together for one of Australia’s biggest one-day cycling events and this year, Very Special Kids is an official charity partner.

Very Special Kids supports around 800 Victorian families caring for children with life-limiting conditions, providing paediatric palliative care alongside practical and emotional support for the whole family.

As a primarily self-funded organisation, fundraising plays a huge role in helping them continue providing these vital services completely free of charge.

Whether you’re taking on 50km, 100km, 135km or the iconic 220km ride, you can make every kilometre count by fundraising for Very Special Kids. 💙

Our friends at Alex Makes Meals offer corporate volunteering experiences where workplace teams can spend a morning in the kitchen helping prepare and pack 200+ meals for their charity partners.

What started from Ava’s own experience is now helping hundreds of others. 💙

After sustaining a spinal cord injury at 14, Ava Costa experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to access the right disability equipment.

So she and her family created The Sharing Shed, connecting pre-loved disability equipment with people and families who need it, free of charge.

From wheelchairs and walkers to shower chairs and more, equipment that might otherwise sit unused is getting a second life with someone who needs it.

Such an incredible initiative from a pretty incredible 17-year-old.

A good life doesn’t have one definition. 

It doesn’t have to mean doing everything independently. It doesn’t have to follow a particular timeline, look a certain way or tick off the milestones society tells us it should.

A good life can be filled with support and choice.
Connection and freedom.
Belonging, laughter, adventure, friendship and a whole lot of fun.

Needing support doesn’t make someone’s life any less full and receiving support shouldn’t mean having less say in what that life looks like.

At TomCare, we believe good support is about helping people live a life that feels like theirs.

And if you know Tom, you’ll know his is certainly full of plenty of fun. 💙
