We’re currently growing the TomCare team 💙

Many of our support workers are students studying nursing, psychology, teaching, occupational therapy, social work and allied health, gaining valuable real-world experience while making a genuine difference in people’s lives.

But more than qualifications, we’re looking for compassionate, reliable people who care about building meaningful connections and supporting others to live full and enriching lives.

If you’re looking for rewarding work alongside your studies or know someone who would be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you ✨

Disability education is still missing from so many school conversations and that has a ripple effect far beyond the classroom.

For many people, their understanding of disability comes from assumptions, discomfort or lack of exposure rather than genuine education and inclusion.

The earlier children are taught about accessibility, communication, inclusion and disability, the more natural empathy and understanding become.

Because creating a more inclusive world starts with what we choose to teach 💙

Some disabilities are visible.
Some aren’t.

Not every disability comes with a wheelchair, mobility aid or something you can immediately see.

Many people live with chronic illness, neurological conditions, mental health conditions, autism, hearing loss, fatigue, pain and other disabilities that may not be obvious from the outside.

That’s why kindness, patience and understanding matter so much 💙

You never truly know what somebody may be navigating behind the scenes.

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day 🌍

Accessibility is about so much more than physical access.

It’s about whether people feel included, considered and able to participate fully in everyday life, online, in public spaces, at events, in workplaces and within their communities.

Because accessibility shouldn’t be treated as an afterthought.

Small changes, better design and more inclusive thinking can make a huge difference for so many people 💙

The best support starts with the right connection 💙

At TomCare, we believe support is about so much more than simply filling a shift.

It’s about finding support workers who genuinely align with the individual, their needs, personality, communication style and the environment around them.

Some people thrive with calm and routine. Others connect best with someone energetic, social and outgoing. Some families require workers experienced in high care support, communication devices, PEG feeding or non-verbal communication.

Because when the fit feels right, support feels more natural, comfortable and meaningful for everyone involved.

That thoughtful, human approach is something we care deeply about at TomCare ✨

In light of Harry Styles announcing another Melbourne show…we thought it was the perfect time to talk about Companion Cards 🎤

We were lucky enough to secure tickets in the first release, and Tom has been very excited ever since.

Tom absolutely loves live music and concerts, and accessible ticketing options like Companion Cards help make experiences like this possible.

For many families navigating disability, attending events often involves much more than simply buying a ticket, from accessible seating to support people and planning ahead.

A Companion Card allows eligible people with disability who require lifelong support to attend participating venues and events with a companion at no extra ticket cost.

Because everyone deserves access to concerts, live music and experiences like this.

The right support changes everything 💙

At TomCare, we believe support is about more than just filling shifts, it’s about connection, trust and finding people who genuinely understand.

When the fit is right, support feels more natural. More comfortable. More meaningful.

Because quality support isn’t just about qualifications, it’s also about feeling safe, seen and understood by the people around you.

That’s why we take such a thoughtful approach to matching the right support workers with the right people.

A huge moment for TomCare 💙

Last week, our founder Sarah was awarded 1st place at Australia’s Most Unstoppable Founder by One Roof and March Collective ✨

TomCare was built from lived experience, with a vision to create more thoughtful, human-centred disability support for families navigating disability, so this recognition feels incredibly special.

It was also such an inspiring night being surrounded by passionate, like-minded founders all creating meaningful impact within their communities and industries.

A huge congratulations to all of the finalists and winners who took the stage and shared their stories 💙

We’re so proud of Sarah and everything she continues to create through TomCare.

This year’s Met Gala sparked an important conversation around accessibility, representation and inclusion in fashion.

Model Aariana Rose Philip made history as the first wheelchair user to attend the Met Gala, while the Costume Institute exhibition intentionally included disability representation through a section titled The Disabled Body.

Because accessibility isn’t just about physical access, it’s also about visibility, representation and being included in spaces that have historically excluded disabled people.

There’s still a long way to go, but conversations like this matter 💙
