As the 2025 year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you through your moments of growth, healing, challenge, and change this year.

We know that Christmas and the holiday season can bring a mix of emotions — joy, connection, grief, reflection, or overwhelm. Wherever you find yourself at this time, please know that your experiences are valid, and you are not alone.

Nepean Counselling Services will be closed for a well-deserved break from 21 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

We will reopen on 5 January 2026.

We teach this in our anger management course but it’s an effective tool to use in all different emotional situations. Why not give it a try.

STOP is the skill of pausing, taking a moment, observe your thoughts and emotions, then proceeding mindfully when calm.

It is a model we have adapted from Marsha Linehan’s DBT skills training.

Taking a moment to pause can do wonders for your mind and body. ✨

It creates space for clarity, creativity, and better decision-making.
