A weekly pill for schizophrenia?

Could a trace of lithium help combat Alzheimer’s?

New research from Canada suggests that ultra-low doses of lithium may reverse symptoms of Alzheimer’s in mice – improving memory, reducing brain inflammation, and even restoring synaptic function.

While these findings are still early-stage and preclinical, they reignite interest in lithium’s neuroprotective potential — not just in mood stabilisation, but in broader neurodegenerative disorders.
