☃️Winter solstice 冬至 Dōng Zhì☃️

This has got to be the coldest winter in Melbourne in years!

Today is the winter solstice, if you’ve been feeling less motivated with low mood, it’s all thanks to this seasonal change.

This season affects our Kidney - the organ that governs the essence that makes up our bones, hair, and teeth and keeps our bodily fluid (yin) and energy (yang) in balance.

The cold and wet weather is also a recipe for disaster for pain and poor circulation.

That’s why you’ve been experiencing more pain and discomfort, especially in the neck and back, poor circulation, ringing in the ears, brittle hair and nails, dry skin, no motivation, low mood, low libido, loose stools, and low energy.

• Tips on protecting the Kidney •

🛁 Bath and soups
Both help to warm up the body and improve circulation. Heat packs are also great to help with pain and discomfort.

🥑 Consuming more food and more healthy fats
This is the time to preserve, our body needs more energy to help keep us warm and functioning in this cold weather.

😆 Take some time for yourself to watch and do things that bring you joy
Having a self-care routine that brings you joy is essential to help lift up your mood and energy.
