What a day at Four Brothers 😂
We started in what was meant to be showers and instead got sunshine, a light breeze and a beautiful walk through the forest. We were all congratulating ourselves on dodging the bad weather.
Then came the hill.
Climb, climb, climb… puff, puff, sweat 😅
We reached the granite boulders, sat down for lunch and took in the views. Perfect.
And then the sky changed.
Rain jackets on… and within minutes we were hit with a wild hailstorm, thunder and lightning.
Definitely not in the forecast.
We stayed off the smaller tracks, moved onto the main road and worked our way safely back. It was probably only 10–15 minutes of absolute chaos, but it became the part we’ll all remember.
Soaked, laughing, looking like drowned rats — and then suddenly the sun was back out.
That’s adventure.
We can spend so much time worrying:
What if it rains?
What if I’m not fit enough?
What if it’s hard?
But sometimes the bits that don’t go to plan make the best memories.
Of course we manage risk and make sensible decisions, but if we avoid every chance of discomfort, what are we missing out on?
Sometimes you just have to turn up. ❤️
