Over the last four days, we’ve been exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast in Wales.

From rugged northern coastline, rolling farmland and St Davids – Britain’s smallest city – to the softer southern beaches, harbours and coastal villages, it’s been a wonderful few days on the trail.

Compared with the South West Coast Path, the walking here feels a little easier and perhaps less dramatic overall, but Pembrokeshire has its own charm – history, beaches, castles, pubs, villages and stunning coastal views.

A real highlight was Pembroke Castle, which was seriously impressive. The scale, history and position above the river made it well worth the stop.

We’re now looking at adding Pembrokeshire to the Take Shape Adventures calendar next year, likely after our South West Coast Path trip.

Would this one be on your adventure list?

What the heck is a Walking Escape anyway?

It falls right in that sweet spot where it’s not a hardcore bootcamp, but also not just days of lazing on a beach doing nothing. A Walking Escape gives you structured adventure so you get the most out of your 4-day trip

We plan your adventure, guide you on the trail, prepare delicious food, and handle all the logistics, so you can show up and unwind

Enjoy beautiful trails during the day, cosy accommodation and homemade meals at night, and a friendly small-group atmosphere where solo-travellers are more than welcome to come and make new friends (that’s what most of our adventurers do!)

Most importantly, a Walking Escape is a chance to put yourself first - you deserve it

Something I hear way too often when I’m talking to new hikers…

"I want to get fitter first, then I'll come"

If you want to get better at doing something, you have to actually do it! The gym can build your strength and puffing on a treadmill can build your lungs, but actually going hiking is the best way to get fit for hiking

That feeling of being ‘ready’ will never happen, you just have to go anyway

What "getting ready first" thing have you been delaying?

Does cold weather make you want to stay inside?

Challenge yourself this Winter to join us on our Mount Stirling snow hike!

Most people think that Winter adventures are uncomfortable and scary, but fear not! At TSA, we take care of preparing a safe and unique itinerary for every group, depending on the weather and snow. We also prepare all the food and cooking and can lend you some gear if you need

Now put those snowshoes on, brave the cold, and make yourself proud

🇬🇧 Pembrokeshire Coast Path Recce – Day 1

Today we explored sections of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path between Fishguard and st David’s as part of our recce for potential future Take Shape Adventures trips.

The weather was classic Wales – misty, drizzly, and beautifully atmospheric. We wandered through colourful coastal towns, rugged farmland, and dramatic cliff-top sections overlooking the sea.

The landscape reminded us a little of Dartmoor and some of the gentler sections of the South West Coast Path, with its own unique Welsh character and charm.

Tonight we’re staying in St Davids, officially the smallest city in the UK, and a fantastic base for exploring more of this incredible coastline.

Tomorrow we’ll continue scouting the trail and seeing what other hidden gems Pembrokeshire has to offer.
