Mates Care currently has availability and is welcoming new participants.

Perhaps you are beginning your NDIS journey, considering a change of provider or looking for additional support. Whatever your situation, our first step is simple: we listen.

We want to understand what a good day looks like for you, what you would like to achieve and where some extra assistance could make everyday life easier.

Help shape the future of NDIS planning and be paid for your time.

The NDIS is currently inviting participants and nominees to help test parts of the new way of planning.

This is a paid opportunity for NDIS participants and nominees with a range of disability types, support needs and lived experiences to share feedback.

Your input can help the NDIS:

✅ Identify issues early
✅ Understand what is working well
✅ Make improvements based on real participant experiences
✅ Strengthen the new planning process before it is rolled out

Taking part will not change your current NDIS plan, funding or supports. Any information shared will only be used to help improve the new planning process.

📌 Who can apply?

If you are an NDIS participant, you can apply to take part in the testing. You must be 18 years or older to apply.

Participation is voluntary, and not everyone who applies will be selected. The NDIS can also arrange supports to help you take part, including interpreters, live captioning and support workers.

➡️ Applications are open until 31 December 2026, and testing is now underway.

🚨 NDIS Short Term Accommodation is changing from 1 July 2026

The NDIS is moving back to the name Short Term Accommodation, also known as STA.

For participants, families, and carers who use short-term support away from home, respite, or overnight stays, these changes are important to understand.

Previously, STA was often claimed as one daily bundled rate covering accommodation, meals, support, and activities.

From 1 July 2026, STA pricing will be separated into different parts, which means invoices may look a little different.

You may now see separate charges for:

✅ Participant accommodation
✅ Support worker accommodation, where needed
✅ Support hours charged by the hour
✅ High-intensity support, where applicable

Support worker rates have also been updated for 2026–27, which may impact STA support hours and other disability support services.

📢 NDIS Pricing Updates for 2026–27 Are Here

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has officially released two major updates for the new financial year:

1️⃣ Annual Pricing Review 2026–27
2️⃣ NDIS Pricing Schedule (formerly the PAPL)

These updates outline the latest pricing adjustments across the NDIS, with most changes coming into effect from 1 July 2026.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s changing:

📈 Some support prices are going up
📉 Some support prices are being reduced
➖ Some rates will stay the same
🆕 New support line items and claim types are being introduced

Key pricing changes include:

🔼 Psychology
$232.99 ➜ $252.99 per hour

🔽 Dietitian
$188.99 ➜ $178.99 per hour

🔽 Exercise Physiologist
$166.99 ➜ $161.99 per hour

🔽 Other Allied Health Professionals
Reduced to $156.16 per hour

🔼 Support Worker Rates
From 1 July 2026, rates will rise in line with the annual wage review and the increase in superannuation to 12%, bringing the new base rate to $73.58 per hour.

🔼 Psychosocial Recovery Coaching
Rates will also increase from 1 July 2026, aligned with support worker pricing changes.

🔽 Social, Community & Civic Participation Supports
From 1 January 2027, unregistered providers will see a 10% reduction in pricing.

New NDIS line items and claim categories:

✅ Orientation and Mobility Specialists
✅ Therapy Travel (new code)
✅ Non-Contact Therapy Time (new code)
✅ Updated Short Term Accommodation (STA) pricing structure
