TK Aesthetics & Skin Werribee is moving!

This post feels incredibly bittersweet.

Almost six years ago, in the middle of COVID, I made one of the biggest and scariest decisions of my life.

With a whole lot of hope (and plenty of fear), TK Aesthetics was born inside Mirra Skin Aesthetic Clinic. I had no idea what the future would hold. I just knew I wanted to create a space where patients felt cared for, never rushed and always left feeling more knowledgeable than when they walked in.

What I didn't expect was just how much that little room would change my life.

It became the place where friendships grew, where patients trusted us through some of their biggest milestones and where so many of you have supported this business from day one.

To Natasha and the entire Mirra Skin team past and present thank you for welcoming us, believing in my vision, cheering us on and making us feel at home over the past five years. Leaving is far more emotional than I ever imagined.

But growth often means taking another leap. So, it's time for our next chapter.

TK Aesthetics & Skin is moving into our very own space within a medical clinic.

This move means we'll be open six days a week, welcome more patients, expand our team, introduce more treatments and continue delivering the personalised, honest and compassionate care you've come to know us for.

To every patient who has trusted us over the past five years, thank you. You are the reason we've grown from one treatment room into what TK Aesthetics & Skin is today and I can't wait to welcome you into this next chapter.

Wrinkles don’t just appear overnight… they’re the result of multiple changes happening beneath the surface.

As we age, our skin naturally goes through changes that affect its structure, strength and ability to bounce back.

The most common causes of wrinkle formation include:
- Collagen & elastin decline: these proteins provide firmness, support and elasticity. As levels decrease, skin becomes thinner and less resilient.
- Repeated facial movements: smiling, frowning, squinting and other expressions create repeated folding of the skin, eventually leading to dynamic lines.
- Loss of hydration: as skin becomes drier, fine lines can appear more noticeable and the skin can lose its healthy glow.
- Changes in facial volume: age-related changes in fat pads, bone structure and soft tissue support can contribute to folds and wrinkles.
- Environmental factors: sun exposure, lifestyle factors and oxidative stress can accelerate visible signs of ageing.

That “well-deserved” glass of wine after your treatment? It could be working against your results.

You’ve just invested in your skin, spent time (and money) on your treatment,and now your body is busy doing the work to heal, repair and respond.

But alcohol can make this process harder.

Why? Alcohol increases blood flow and causes blood vessels to dilate, which can contribute to more redness, swelling and bruising. It can also dehydrate your body and increase inflammation, not exactly the environment your skin needs after a treatment.

Whether you’ve had aesthetic treatments, skin needling, peels or collagen-stimulating treatments, your aftercare matters just as much as the treatment itself.

The easiest way to support your results? Skip the alcohol for at least 24 hours post-treatment, stay hydrated and follow your practitioner’s aftercare advice.

Because the treatment doesn’t end when you leave the clinic… that’s when the healing begins.
