Getting a diagnosis shouldn’t feel like a breakthrough moment. But for so many women, it does.

After years of being dismissed, minimised, or told symptoms are “normal”, finally having someone listen can feel emotional, validating, and overwhelming all at once.

At Hazel, we believe women deserve care that listens earlier, investigates properly, and sees the full picture, not just the symptoms. 💛

Fish oil gets recommended a lot
But what actually matters is how you take it and what you’re taking

For period pain and pelvic discomfort, the goal isn’t a quick fix
It’s supporting inflammation over time
That’s where omega-3s may help
But only when taken consistently, not just when symptoms hit

The quality matters
The dose matters
And consistency is what makes the difference

It’s a small shift
But one that can change how your cycle feels over time

After more than a decade of global consultation, PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

The shift is about more than terminology.
For many women, the name “polycystic o***y syndrome” never reflected the reality of what they were experiencing. Many didn’t have ovarian cysts at all, while dealing with symptoms affecting hormones, metabolism, skin, mental health, fertility, energy and more.

Language shapes healthcare.
What gets recognised.
What gets dismissed.
What gets treated seriously.

Experts hope the new name will help create better understanding, earlier diagnosis and more holistic care for the millions of women living with this condition.

A reminder that women’s health has always been more complex than the labels it’s been given.

Your symptoms are valid. Always.
Doctors are trained to listen for patterns, so describing your symptoms this way can help them connect the dots faster.
We believe in advocating for yourself in any system, even when they only look for specific signals.
You deserve to be heard
And supported
And taken seriously

Menopause isn’t a decline.

It’s a natural transition — one millions of women move through every year, often without enough support or information.

Hormones shift. Energy, sleep, mood, and metabolism can change, too. But with the right care, this can be a time of confidence, comfort, and clarity.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

At Hazel, we support women through every stage of hormonal change, with care grounded in science, compassion, and respect. Learn more at the link in bio 💜

When hormones shift, especially in perimenopause, they can influence everything from serotonin to sleep and stress response.

Serotonin is one of the brain’s key “steady-mood” and emotional-regulation chemicals.

Oestrogen helps support how serotonin is made, released, and used in the brain.

So when oestrogen fluctuates, serotonin can fluctuate too, and that can affect:

💛 Mood and irritability

💛 Stress tolerance

💛 Emotional sensitivity

💛 Motivation

💛 Sleep and energy

It’s not being “dramatic.” It’s your neurochemistry adapting to hormonal change.

Understanding what's happening in your body isn’t just validating, it’s the first step in feeling supported, not dismissed.

If nobody told you perimenopause was a thing, you didn’t “miss the memo” –
it never got sent.

This transition can last 4–8 years, and shift everything from sleep and mood
to energy, periods, skin, and focus – yet most women only realise they’re in it long after symptoms begin.

We’re here so you don’t have to navigate it in the dark, because informed women make powerful decisions about their health.

Have you ever wondered whether your symptoms sound more like endometriosis or adenomyosis?

Both conditions can cause painful periods, fatigue, and bloating. But what’s happening inside your body is very different.

In endometriosis, tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it – often around the ovaries, fallopian tubes or pelvic lining.

In adenomyosis, that same type of tissue grows into the muscular wall of the uterus itself.

Because each condition affects the body differently, they’re treated differently too. That’s why getting the right diagnosis (and the right kind of care!) makes such a difference.

If you’ve been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or are simply unsure where to start — our GPs specialise in understanding complex women’s health conditions just like adenomyosis and endometriosis.
