😨Paralympic racing legend Tanni Grey-Thompson was asked if she had tried walking when her wheelchair disappeared on a flight to Birmingham.

The former athlete, who won 16 Paralympic medals, 11 of them gold, said the airline then tried to return two sleeping bags to her, claiming that was her lost property, before her chair turned up in Dublin weeks later sawn in half.

"It came back to me in two pieces," she said. "It had been cut in half and it was suggested I might like to try and duct tape it back together, which didn't work."

A desk once hidden now sees the light again.
Ready to hold books, art products, pastels, watercolours and so much more.

One more sleep in this house and then many sleeps in the newer house.

I can shower.
3 years and I haven’t been able to shower.
We are staying in the same community and that my friends is priceless.

I am just rambling. Tired, happy, thoughts racing and tripping and tumbling.

The dogs sleeping at my feet, a cat too and always AJ by my side.
He has grasped the fact that we won’t move again, talking about the new TV we need to apparently buy.

So I will sleep or I will not. Sleep well my friends and if you can’t my inbox is open.

Love
Sara xoxo

COMIC STRIP
A Day in the Life of a PWD (Person With a Disability)

A man in a wheelchair is talking to a acquaintance.

ACQUAINTANCE: Must be nice not to go to work every day!

MAN (rolling his eyes): Oh, yeah, the poverty, boredom, and isolation is delightful...

Sometimes in life your Support Worker hands you a toastie with a smile and it’s cut like this. Sometimes life seems to be cut like this toastie but mine seems even more dramatic!

2019 Living my best life, it was far from perfect but I was doing ok.

2026 Deeply depressed, homeschooling my son and that is the greatest joy of my life, my animals population has exploded - 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 Guinea pigs, I’ve had a stroke 6 years ago, I would be lost without my electric wheelchair and without all of my Support Workers and therapists.

Now it’s time for another fork in my road dear reader. I am moving again, moving that bought with it grief (good old CPTSD) and with it relief. I’m moving into a government house that is wheelchair accessible. Not the doors have ramps, they do, but the sinks I can roll up to.

But…. It’s tiny and I will will have to pay for storage or I’m not sure. That’s for tomorrow to worry about.

Here’s to change!

Love,
Sara xoxo
