Join Catherine Marty and Leesa Nash for a unique fusion of forest therapy and plant music that deepens your connection with nature through mindful exploration and sound. Catherine combines ecotherapy and plant-based sound healing, while Leesa guides sensory and creative practices grounded in nature’s rhythms — together offering a restorative experience that nurtures calm, awareness, and well-being.

The session includes:
• Slow guided sensory walk along the trail with Leesa (Forest Therapy),
• Sound healing and plant communication with Catherine (Ecotherapy & plant music),
•Closing tea ceremony amongst the trees.

This is a bi-monthly program, connecting you to the local daily and seasonal cycles, acting as a map for understanding patterns in life and our deeper relationship with the more than human world.

Ensure to carve out some time for you to experience an afternoon of calm and restorative practices and return to the world recharged and truly rested.

You will need: Comfortable clothes suitable for walking, closed toe shoes, water bottle and mosquito repellent. A small back pack to keep your hands free is recommended. Toilets are available to use in the car park, prior to the walk.

Weather: As this event takes place outdoors, we may have to postpone or cancel due to extreme heat or heavy rain. If this occurs, refunds will be available.

Access:
• Distance travelled is under 2 km in 3.5 hours.
• There are opportunities to pause, sit & rest.
• The trail is flat earth with gentle slopes & some off trail grass
• Seating is generally at ground level. Please bring a light camp chair if you are uncomfortable sitting on the ground.

FILM GIVE AWAY - FINAL DAY- 2 lucky winners have the chance to receive a double pass to see H Is for Hawk — a moving story of grief, nature, and healing - based on the acclaimed memoir H Is for Hawk by Helen McDonald.

I have a personal connection to this story. My nieces gave me this book, when my father died a few years ago. It has been a slow & wonderfully moving read.

The 2nd & 3rd images are from a post I made when my darling father was still alive. During my first year of Forest Therapy, I was posting about nature connection every day. On day 40, dad had a traumatic experience. Living some distance away, I was struggling not being able to be close to him, so I walked the Merri Creek.

We wander slowly - integrating the guided somatic & sensory grounding practices - pausing to explore our curiosity & our relationship with the natural world around us.

Then as our minds begin to become more active, we introduce a nature connection tool which anchors our experience again.

The loupe magnifier, brings us up close & intimate with the more than human world around us, training the heart to pay attention.

There was a sense of curiosity as we listened to Catherine reveal the communication of the trees.

Then the first participant began to interact through touch with the wise old eucalyptus tree. She generously let us hear her talk. Then, there was a moment of shared “collective effervescence”* as physical touch paused & the tree fell silent.

It was tangible & I felt the waves of this musical chatter & the weight of the silence shared between us.

Yet each one of us experience this differently.

*When a group shares a moment of intense amazement, wonder, or excitement, it is commonly referred to as collective effervescence. Coined by sociologist Émile Durkheim, it describes the sense of energy & community people feel when they gather together & experience the same emotion simultaneously. Sharing a moment of awe allows people to break free from their thoughts and attune to those around them.

The Great Forest National Park exists but not safely, not in a way that prevents it from being mined or used for purposes other than life supporting - recreation & habitat. That’s because, it’s not yet officially a national park! It’s precious country, with a long campaign, fought by many activists, scientists & ecologists.

That’s why in the lead up to the Victorian state election, it’s so important that we connect with this place & our local politicians to tell them what we want & why we want it.

Last weekend we joined two guided sessions with Jordan Crook from VPNA , Blake and Jake from & Steve Meacher from to
🌿 survey for plants and fungi in Toolangi state forest.
🌿survey for marsupials in the unprotected Mountain Ash state forest in Toolangi.

It was so much fun & very informative.

“So many days are spent not really observing what is present within and without . The to do lists, constant distractions compounds this. If you want to learn, destress and connect with nature and yourself, choose an experience with Leesa & Catherine!”
Participant - Name withheld.

We had a glorious autumn day of sunshine for the launch of Sensing the Wild at Gresswell Forest. As well as the warmth of the sun, we were blessed with bounding kangaroos & moments of shared awe. We listened to the tees, magnified intimate worlds, marked our relationship with wild things onto paper, sipped tea, chewed cookies, laughed, created small 3D memories and lay our heavy bodies upon the earth ready to receive the sounds of wind & skin under a soft blue sky.

This is the life ✨
