⚠️ One of the FIRST steps before embarking on a low FODMAP diet for IBS, is to make sure you've reduced these key gut irritants:

☕️ Caffeine
🌶 Spicy food
🍕 High fat foods
🥂 Alcohol

🔥 For people with IBS, the nerves lining the gut are highly sensitive, so eating these types of foods regularly can lead to worsening of bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and/or constipation and reflux.

Oats have some amazing gut loving benefits! Not only are they affordable but they are easy to add to so many different recipes AND they are FODMAP friendly! 👏😋

✅️ Natural prebiotic to help feed the beneficial bacteria that lives inside your gut - these contribute to a whole range of benefits!

✅️ Reduce appetite and curb hunger cravings

✅️ Plant based protein to keep you feeling fuller for longer

✅️ Excellent source of fibre that helps attract water back into the stool - this helps soften and loosen hard stools. Also adds bulk to firm up loose stools.

Do you have a sneaking suspicion you could have IBS? Or are you feeling unsure because your symptoms overlap with that of other gut conditions? 🤔

🌍 IBS stats: IBS effects 2 out of 3 woman and at least 15% of people worldwide.

💥 IBS key symptoms: bloating, abdominal pain, excess flatulence, diarrhoea and/or constipation

Common RED Flags:
🚩 Blood in stools
🚩 Headaches / Migraines
🚩 Vomiting and nausea
🚩 Fever
🚩 Night sweats
🚩 Unintentional weight loss

⚠️ As IBS symptoms tend to also be common in some other conditions, watch out for any RED FLAGS that may indicate another illness that needs further investigation by your Doctor.

✅️ If you suspect you have IBS and have ruled out other conditions, send me a DM and let's start talking about how I can help you find long-term effective symptom relief...and get back to enjoying holidays and eating out without the fear of a flare-up!
