Our Queen Victoria Market chapter has come to an end… but this is far from goodbye.

We’re closing the doors to our String Bean Alley store because Journally is ready for its next chapter. ✨

It’s bittersweet to leave the place where it all began, but we’re incredibly excited about what we’ve been building behind the scenes🤫😃

Part 6 of 6 — 200 journals for a very special milestone. 🎓✨

For the final story in our corporate gifting series, we’re sharing one that is especially close to our hearts.

We had the privilege of creating 200 journals for one of Melbourne’s top universities, for students graduating from a scholarship program.

And what makes this order so special to us is knowing that we get to be a small part of their graduation celebration this December. 🤍

Graduation marks the end of one chapter, but more importantly, the beginning of another.

We hope these journals become a place for them to dream bigger, reflect on where they’ve been, document where they’re going, and hold onto the moments that make this next chapter special.

Part 5 of 6 — 60 journals. One very special retreat in Greece. 🇬🇷✨

One of our favourite corporate orders was 60 journals for a women’s retreat in Greece. 🤍

They chose a combination of Travel and Dotted inserts — the perfect pairing for a retreat centred around reflection, connection and creating memories.

The Travel inserts were made for capturing adventures, while the Dotted pages gave them the freedom to reflect, write and document those little moments along the way.

And this is what we love most about every order we receive at Journally…

It’s never just a journal. There’s always a story behind it. ✨

A person, a team, a milestone, a journey, a moment worth remembering.

Knowing that our journals get to be a small part of these meaningful experiences — and hold memories that may be cherished for years to come — is something we’ll never take for granted. 🤍

We’re hiring! - Retail Staff Assistant — South Melbourne Market

Journally is looking for a friendly, detail-loving retail assistant to join our team at our South Melbourne Market shop!

📅 Starting hours: 17 hrs/week

Wed: 8am–4pm
Fri: 8am–5pm

📈 From February, this role will move to a permanent part-time/full-time position — perfect for someone looking to grow with a small, hands-on brand.

You’ll be the face of Journally in-store — helping customers personalise their journals, monogramming with our gold foil press, and keeping the shop looking beautiful.

What we’re after:

✅Comfortable using Adobe Illustrator
✅Happy to learn (or already familiar with) our gold foil monogramming press
✅If journaling is already part of your routine (or stationery is your love language), even better!
✅Friendly, reliable, and great with customers
✅Available to start right away

Part 4 of 6 — It’s the little details that make all the difference. ✨

When it comes to corporate orders, we don’t just want to meet your brief — we want to make sure it feels right for your brand.

We were preparing a bulk order for a Melbourne-based marketing agency when we realised their logo in our signature gold foil just wasn’t working with their brand aesthetic.

So, we pivoted. 🤍

We trialled different foil colours, tested how their logo looked on the journal cover, and kept going until we found the perfect match.

And the winner?

✨ Silver foil.

It looked absolutely STUNNING — and, more importantly, it felt them.

Because sometimes, getting the perfect corporate gift means paying attention to the little details and being willing to go the extra mile.

Part 1 of 6 — How corporate gifting found us 🎁

Sometimes, things happen for you and take you in a direction you never expected.

This is one of those stories.

An American couple walked into our shop looking to buy a few journals for themselves. Instead, they ended up ordering 20 journals as gifts for their team.

But that was just the beginning…

Later that same year, they came back with an order for 150 journals. And the following year? Another 200.

What started as a simple visit to our shop unexpectedly opened the door to corporate gifting for Journally — and we couldn’t be more grateful. ❤️

Sometimes, the best opportunities are the ones you never planned for.

Every email, every kind word, every photo, every suggestion... we read them all.

Some make us smile, some make us laugh, and all of them mean more than you know.

As a small business, it’s easy to get caught up in packing orders, replying to emails and trying to make everything just right. Then a message like one of these pops up, and it reminds us why we started Journally in the first place.
