Lots of amazing work was on show at ANZUP ASM 2026 (28-30 June), showing off some of the GU registries and their real-world data in action!

Awarded Best Poster were:

🌟BLADDA registry: Dr Andrisha Inderjeeth presented on first-line treatment with Avelumab for metastatic urothelial bladder cancer and barriers limiting uptake of new 1L therapies

🌟ePAD registry: Dr Anthony Uccellini discussed real-world patterns of molecular testing in Australian patients with metastatic CRPC.

🌟ePAD registry: Dr Tivya Kulasegaran explored re-thinking treatment intensity, comparing real-world PSA kinetics with ARPI doublet versus docetaxel triplet in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer

🌟KRAB registry: In patients with metastatic clear cell renal call carcinoma, Dr Faria Arefin’s findings suggest treatment with ipilimumab and nivolumab leads to durable response in ~25% of patients.

A new publication showcasing the BRAIN Registry being put to great use 🌟

Dr Emma Sanderson utilised the BRAIN Registry to explore the use of salvage therapies in patients with glioblastoma. The retrospective analysis showed that systemic therapy, predominantly bevacizumab, is most commonly utilised at first progression. There was no observed statistically significant difference in post-progression survival between those who underwent re-resection and those who received systemic therapy alone.

🔍 Opened in 2018, the BRAIN Registry is a robust clinical registry for patients with brain tumours in Australia, following them from presentation and diagnosis through to outcomes and management.

🔍The BRAIN Registry supports novel research questions like that of Dr Sanderson, helping to shape our understanding of brain cancer management and drive the goal for improvement in treatment and outcomes alike.

A big congratulations to Angus Campbell of the for completing his Masters of Biostatistics at Monash University 🌟

Angus also received the Monash University Student Excellence Award as the top-performing Master of Biostatistics Student in 2025! 🔥

His Masters project, titled “Practical approaches to missing data in clinical registries” focused on comparing methods of varying complexity that can be used to handle missing data.

The aim was to identify approachable methods that can be used by researchers with more introductory levels of understanding in statistics. Angus is now working on getting his paper ready to send for publication.

Check out some of the amazing breast cancer research happening at the presented at the Breast Cancer Trials 2026 ASM 🌟

🔍 Dr Vanessa Wong presents the first interim analysis of the KATRINA study, examining baseline characteristics and treatment delivery of early triple-negative breast cancer patients who received pembrolizumab in combination with chemotherapy. We eagerly await further outcome data to be presented in mid-2027.

🔍Dr Laura Panozzo, a registrar at Grampians Health and Monash Health, is exploring the use of bone-modifying agents in HR+, HER2- metastatic breast cancer, utilising data from the ARORA Registry.

🔍The TRACIE Registry shows that real world use of sacituzumab govitecan is in line with survival outcomes shown in clinical trials and there is improved benefit when it is used in earlier line therapy.

Great examples of the potential for the registry studies to provide robust real world evidence to answer novel research questions 🌟
