We work collaboratively with world-leading researchers to deliver clinical trials that improve melanoma and skin cancer outcomes. A great day at the PC4 2026 Scientific Symposium in Adelaide, connecting with colleagues and partners from across the cancer care and research community.

Thank you to Dr Janelle Jones, National Manager of PC4 (Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group) and host of the symposium, for bringing together such a diverse group of researchers, clinicians, consumers and sector leaders.

It was a pleasure also catch up with Susan Goode (TROG Cancer Research), and Jonathan Godin (Cancer Australia) and discuss the opportunities ahead for collaboration in comprehensive cancer care.

Looking forward to continuing these important conversations and partnerships that support better outcomes for patients and communities.

A milestone in melanoma research🎉

We're excited to share that The Alfred has enrolled the first participant in the BETTER trial.

Led by Dr Malaka Ameratunga and sponsored by Monash University, the BETTER trial is investigating a new treatment approach for people with melanoma that has spread to the brain.

Melanoma brain metastases can be particularly challenging to treat, and patients are often excluded from clinical trials. This study aims to improve treatment options and quality of life by combining immunotherapy with targeted radiotherapy.
A huge thank you to the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation and everyone who has supported the Mission Melanoma campaigns. Your fundraising efforts are helping make research like this possible.

Today is Rare Cancers Awareness Day. Since 2021, the 26th of June has marked a national day of recognition, support and understanding for those affected by rare and less common cancers.

At Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials, we are proud to support and represent those diagnosed with rare cancers, specifically Merkel Cell Carcinoma and Ocular Melanoma within our Consumer Advisory Panel. We would like to acknowledge and thank all the patients who have shared their cancer stories with MASC Trials, your courage is deeply appreciated.

🎉 A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined our Concept Development Workshop!

It was fantastic to see such strong participation and energy throughout the session — your engagement truly made the experience special.

We were also incredibly fortunate to bring together four amazing presenters, including two consumers (Alison and Michelle) alongside Dr Ashray Gunjur and Dr Jenny Morris. The depth and diversity of perspectives created a powerful and meaningful conversation.
