🩸How I support my cycle with Chinese Medicine

Have you ever wondered how this Chinese Medicine practitioner actually looks after her own period? It is definitely not chasing wellness trends on this app
In my clinical practice in Clifton Hill, I’m always banging on about the importance of warmth. In Chinese Medicine, we see the digestive system (the Spleen and Stomach) as the creator for your Qi and Blood. If we’re constantly cooling the digestion with iced coffees or raw salads, it can lead to stagnation or deficiency of Blood, which can present as pain, irregular bleeding, missing periods, the list goes on!
Here are my non negotiables for a healthy flow:
✨ Stay Warm Heat packs are life! I keep my lower back and feet covered to keep the Qi moving.
✨ Eat & Drink Warm I prefer cooking methods like steaming and slow cooking to support my Spleen. You won’t be catching me eating ice cream when I am bleeding
✨ Exercise Mindfully When I am bleeding I don’t hit the gym. I got for walks, I do some Qi Gong, I rest.
✨ Professional Support I regularily see my own acupuncturist for tune-ups, just like I have my clients see me for tune ups once we get their periods and cycles back on track.
A healthy period is such a vital sign of overall well-being. If yours feels like a monthly struggle, you don’t have to navigate it alone. 🤝
