Us millennials were once..

…running on a dream and the belief breakfast was optional.

Now I'm a nutritionist talking about energy regulation on the internet 😂😬

But here's the thing 👇

Your morning food habits can have a pretty big flow-on effect.

☕ Coffee replacing food
⏰ Long gaps before eating
🥣 A breakfast that doesn't quite meet your energy needs

…can all influence hunger, concentration and how food-focused you feel later in the day.

This isn't me telling you to join the 5am club, drink lemon water (please dont) and have a 12-step morning routine 😮‍💨

It's about giving your body enough energy to work with.

More often than not, that 3pm "hanger" is your body asking where breakfast went 👀

How are we starting our mornings these days, millennials? 👇🙃

1️⃣ Add before you subtract

Think protein, fibre, colour + foods you actually enjoy rather than another list of foods to cut out 💅

2️⃣ Stop “earning” your food

You don’t need to train harder, skip meals or “make up for” what you ate.

3️⃣ Ditch the all-or-nothing mindset

A meal doesn’t need to be “perfect” to be nutritious. Some meals will be more balanced than others and that’s completely normal 💯

Diet-free living isn’t about caring less about nutrition...
.it’s really learning to eat well without food rules running the show 🤍

Happy feasting always

Apparently some meals are “lunch foods” and others are “dinner foods”…

Your body: respectfully, I do not care 😂

One of the easiest ways to make eating well feel less complicated is to stop putting meals into such rigid little time slots.

A balanced meal at midday can also work perfectly well at 6pm. And last night’s dinner? Completely acceptable lunch behaviour the next day.

What matters more is whether your meal is actually doing its job...
.giving you enough energy, protein, carbs, fats, fibre and overall satisfaction to carry you through the next part of your day.

Having a handful of easy meals that can swing between lunch and dinner can also mean:

✨ less decision fatigue
✨ easier meal prep
✨ more flexibility when life gets busy
✨ fewer “there’s nothing to eat” moments while staring directly into a fridge containing food

Eating well doesn’t need a complicated roster.

Here are 5 meals currently on rotation 👆

If learning to bake has taught me anything, it's this...

You can't expect a loaf to rise if you leave out half the ingredients 🍞💯

Your body works much the same way.

Trying to function on...

❌️ minimal food,
❌️ cutting out entire food groups,
❌️or chasing the latest health trend is a bit like expecting bread to magically appear from flour alone.

Your body needs the full recipe....

🥖 Carbohydrates for energy
🥚 Protein for repair and recovery
🫒 Healthy fats for hormones and brain health
🥝 Fibre, Vitamins and minerals to keep everything running as it should 👀

Nutrition shouldn't be about finding the "secret ingredient" it's honestly just getting the basics that work for your body, right...
..consistently.

And yes... sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is enjoy a slice of fresh sourdough while it's still warm 🤪

Happy feasting always.

The wellness industry will happily convince you that better health is one expensive purchase away.

In reality?

Some of the best nutrition investments are the ones that make eating well easier, not more complicated.

💰 Frozen fruit and vegetables = less waste, same great nutrition.
💰 Protein-rich staples = meals that keep you fuller for longer.
💰 A sharp chef's knife = less prep frustration, more home-cooked meals.
💰 A good insulated lunch bag = balanced meals are much easier when they're already with you. 💰 A quality extra virgin olive oil = one of the most evidence-backed pantry staples for heart health.

And if I could add one more…
🧠 Evidence-based support 🤓

Not another quick fix ❌️

Support that looks at your health, lifestyle, training, preferences and goals, then helps you build habits that actually last.

Sometimes the best investment isn't another product.

It's learning how to nourish your body with confidence.

👇 What nutrition purchase has genuinely been worth every dollar for you?

Whos clocked the "yoghurt body" trend on socials?

Honestly folks.. we can leave that one alone. 🥣

To be now judging foods based on the body they supposedly create instead of what they actually do for us....

I'd rather you focus on:

💥 Eating enough to fuel your day.
💥 Adding foods you genuinely enjoy instead of fearing them.
💥 Building meals that keep you satisfied, not just looking "healthy".
💥 Having the energy to train, work and make memories.
💥 Sharing meals with the people you love without guilt.

Because your body is the least interesting thing about you & Yoghurt doesn't make you look a certain way....no one single food does 🙄

Food is nourishment, enjoyment, culture and connection..
..not a shortcut to becoming someone else's ideal body type 💯

Happy feasting always,

S'mores Banana Bread 🍌🍫🔥

One thing I see often after periods of food restriction is the belief that every meal needs to be "perfect" to get back on track.

In reality, balance isn't built through food rules.

It's built by learning that nutritious foods and fun foods can exist on the same plate, in the same day and even in the same recipe 💯

This S'mores Banana Bread is a perfect example.

You've got...
✅️fibre from the banana,
✅️protein from the Greek yoghurt and eggs,

alongside chocolate, marshmallows and biscuits because all foods are allowed to be enjoyable 😋

Recipe inspired by ✨

S'mores Banana Bread

Ingredients
▪ 3 ripe bananas, mashed
▪ ½ cup brown sugar
▪ ¼ cup white sugar
▪ ¼ cup Greek yoghurt
▪ 2 eggs
▪ ½ cup melted butter
▪ 1¼ cups flour
▪ 1 tsp bicarb soda
▪ ½ tsp salt
▪ ¼ cup crushed biscuits of choice
▪ ¼ cup chocolate of choice, chopped

Toppings
▪ Marshmallows
▪ Extra biscuits
▪ Extra chocolate

Method

Preheat oven to 220°C.

In a large bowl, combine bananas, sugars, Greek yoghurt, eggs and melted butter.

Add flour, bicarb soda and salt. Mix until just combined.

Fold through crushed biscuits and chocolate.

Pour into a lined loaf tin.

Reduce oven to 190°C and bake for 35–40 minutes.

Top with marshmallows, extra biscuits and chocolate.

Pop back into the oven for 5 minutes or until the marshmallows are golden and toasted.

Save this for your next baking day 🤍

Turns out it's never really been about the sourdough. 🍞

Lately, it's been about the process.

The measuring, mixing, waiting, learning, adjusting and trying again when things don't quite go to plan.

The same goes for welcoming my newest nutrition client. 🌱

Getting to know their story, helping them build skills, finding what works for them and creating habits that actually fit their life 💯

A fresh loaf on the bench...
.& the opportunity to support someone at the beginning of their nutrition journey?

That's my version of peace these days. 🤍

Have you ever taken biochemistry? 😂

By that logic we'd all be avoiding:

▪ Riboflavin
▪ Pyridoxine
▪ Cyanocobalamin
▪ Cholecalciferol

Otherwise known as vitamins B2, B6, B12 and vitamin D. 😅

A long or scientific-sounding name doesn't automatically make something unhealthy.

The real question isn't:
❌ "Can I pronounce it?"

It's:
✅ What is it?
✅ What does it do?
✅ How much is in it?
✅ How does it fit into my overall diet?

Nutrition is a littleeeeee more complicated than a pronunciation test.

Now excuse me while I enjoy my dihydrogen monoxide. 💧😂

Caffeine works by blocking adenosine.

This is the chemical that builds up in your brain throughout the day making you feel sleepy 🧠💤

So technically… caffeine doesn’t create energy for you, it temporarily stops you feeling how tired you actually are 👀

A few other things people don’t realise 👇

▪ Adenosine still builds in the background while caffeine is active
▪ When caffeine wears off, the “crash” can feel intense because all that built-up sleep pressure hits at once
▪ More caffeine ≠ more energy regulation
▪ Poor sleep + high caffeine intake can become a cycle very quickly

This doesn’t mean caffeine is “bad” by any means!

I will defend my morning coffee with my life ☕️😂

But relying on caffeine to replace:

• food
• sleep
• recovery
• balanced meals
• hydration

…is where things start to become an issue.

More often than not its not a caffeine issue but an energy regulation issue 😬

General Australian guidance recommendations are:
👇🏼

Adults should aim to keep caffeine intake around or below 400mg per day (roughly 3 coffees depending on the strength) ☕️

Trust me, your body probanly isn’t asking for another double shot espresso at 3pm & knowing your personal caffeine threshold matters 💯

Lemme know your thoughts
