Absorption of minerals such as iron and magnesium occurs in the stomach and small intestine and relies on good levels of stomach acid and digestive enzymes 🔥

Increase your absorption with these tips:
1. Eat slowly and chew well
2. Eat bitter foods and use bitters such as Iberogast
3. Eat foods that contain enzymes, papaya and pineapple contain proteolytic enzymes that break down proteins
4. Eat zinc rich foods as well as B1 and magnesium to make stomach acid
5. If you are on proton pump inhibitors such as Nexium, continue working on reducing your dose if possible
6. Get tested for Helicobacter pylori

Don’t throw all the seeds in the bin!😎

These small (but mighty!) seeds are brimming with antioxidants including quercetin which can reduce histamine, rutin, and kaempferol to help protect your body from cellular damage.
The enzyme papain in the seeds helps break down proteins so that the body can digest, absorb, and use the nutrients easier and could reduce pain and bloating
Papaya seeds can be eaten directly from the fruit or taken as a dietary supplement but they do have a strong peppery flavour! To clients with digestive complaints such as abdominal bloating or SIBO I recommend half a teaspoon added to dishes or vitamised in a smoothie daily.
And remember they are not safe to eat if pregnant or trying to conceive!

🍍 1. Biomedical Adalase contains papaya enzymes ( a favourite) as well as vitamin D, A and amylase
🍊2. Orthoplex DEF is a good all rounder
🍅3. Henry Blooms bio fermented papaya with pomegranate but only if there are no issues with histamine!!

You need vitamins and minerals to make stomach acid to separate vitamins and minerals from food for absorption 🤪🤪🤪
Vitamin D and iron in particular have a beneficial relationship, when one rises and is in range, the other tends to as well! ☀️
