If your child is a picky eater, one of the most important things I want you to know is this 👇

Sometimes picky eating has nothing to do with the food.

What looks like “fussy eating” on the surface may actually be influenced by:
• Sensory sensitivities
• Anxiety around food
• Oral motor challenges
• Autism or ADHD
• Reduced hunger awareness
• Medical or gastrointestinal issues
• Previous negative experiences with food
• A need for routine and predictability

That’s why simply telling a child to “just try it” rarely works.

When we understand the why behind a child’s eating, we can put the right strategies in place to help them build confidence around food and expand their diet over time

Inside my 6-Week Unfussy Eater Program, I walk parents through the common reasons children struggle with food and give you practical, evidence-based strategies to support them at home.

Comment UNFUSSY and I’ll send you the details.

Can I tell you something that surprises a lot of parents?

The more pressure we put on kids to eat… the harder eating often becomes.

Things like:
‘Just one more bite.’
‘You haven’t eaten enough.’
‘Or you’ll be hungry later.’

They come from a place of love.

But what they actually do is increase stress around food.

And when kids feel stressed, anxious, or pressured, they’re less likely to listen to their hunger cues, explore new foods, or enjoy eating.

That’s why picky eating isn’t solved by trying harder.

It’s solved by having the right plan.

An evidence-based approach helps you create structure, reduce pressure, build confidence around food, and support your child to learn eating skills over time.

Because eating is a skill — and skills are learned, not forced.

And that’s exactly what I teach inside my 6-week Unfussy Eater Program. Comment UNFUSSY and I’ll send you the details ❤️

Everyone is talking about protein right now...

But as a nutritionist and feeding therapist, one of the biggest nutrition gaps I see in picky eaters is actually fibre.

Why does it matter?

Because low fibre can contribute to:
• constipation
• tummy aches
• poor gut health
• feeling hungry soon after eating
• difficulty recognising hunger and fullness cues

And here’s the challenge...

Many picky eaters avoid the foods highest in fibre:
fruit, vegetables, legumes and wholegrains.

The good news?

Small changes can make a big difference.

Try:
👉Adding berries to yoghurt
👉Using a higher-fibre cereals
👉Blending beans/lentils into pasta sauce
👉Offering popcorn as a snack
👉Swapping to wholegrain breads and crackers

And don’t forget — fibre needs water to do its job.

If you’re increasing fibre, make sure you’re increasing fluids too.

Because when it comes to supporting gut health, appetite and preventing constipation, Fibre deserves way more attention than it gets ❤️
