Sarah is passionate about raising Sarcoma awareness and helping to provide relevant and trustworthy information to patients, carers and survivors. Are you aged 18–25y and living with or after cancer (within one year post-treatment), or are you a carer or healthcare provider for someone who is?

Would you like to share your perceptions of bothersome cancer symptoms to help find better ways to support other young people in the future?

On behalf of the University of Technology Sydney, we invite you to take part in a focus group or interview to discuss symptoms and treatment approaches for young adults with cancer. A focus group is a type of group discussion with others who are like you and an interview is a one-on-one conversation with a researcher.

The study is for people who are based in Australia. Focus groups and interviews will be online and take about 1-hour.

CREST Health Economics in Cancer Research Symposium

Registrations are now open for the CREST Health Economics in Cancer Research Symposium, taking place on Friday, 4 September 2026 at the Aerial Function Centre, UTS.

The symposium theme, Valuing outcomes, improving lives: the impact of cancer clinical trials, will feature presentations from Mathias Bressel, Pascale Guitera, Sarah Norris, Sibel Saya, Karin Thursky and Cancer Australia.

We'd like to end Sarcoma Awareness Month by sharing Adele's story 🎗

For the past few years, Adele has physically and mentally battled with her diagnosis since finding a little lump on her stomach. She waited months between appointments to slowly find out more information about this lump, which turned out to be an aggressive fibromatosis.

It's the last day of July. We're so grateful for everyone who was part of this SAM, every donation, share, and moment of support has helped us make sarcoma known.

To our spokespeople who courageously shared their stories, your voices are so important, and they've made a real difference in raising awareness for sarcoma.

And to everyone who showed up, at Plank-A-Thon Melbourne, planking every day through June and July, and again at Plank-A-Thon Sydney, or cheering and fundraising from afar, together you've raised over $97,000, money that's going towards vital sarcoma research.

The month may be over, but the work isn't. Keep sharing, keep talking about sarcoma, and help us keep the momentum going 💛

Dr Joanna Connor, ANZSA New Zealand Director, explains. 🎗 A UK-trained medical oncologist based in Auckland, Joanna specialises in breast cancer and sarcoma and is clinical lead for sarcoma in medical oncology at Te Pūriri o Te Ora, Auckland Regional Cancer and Blood Service.
