Birth is meant to transform you. It’s meant to dissolve your maiden self, your insecurities, and false beliefs about yourself. 🔥

Pain and challenge in birth serves a purpose. It’s hard for a reason. Why?

If you can walk through the flames of birth and you meet your most powerful self, you’ll realize how unstoppable you. You’ll walk into motherhood as the strong, powerful, mature mother you’re meant to be. 🌊

The women who have experienced this will tell you, it’s electrifying to realize your power. You’ll feel invincible knowing you grew and birthed a baby through your body.

When pain and challenge in birth are bypassed (via medication or interventions) there’s an element of this experience that you miss out on. You aren’t taken to the ultimate depths of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual challenge. And that’s okay if that’s what you have chosen but many women don’t realize this or understand what they may miss out on and are left feeling like they were cheated of something.

❓If you are a pregnant woman facing birth soon, can you take a moment to reflect on what the pain and challenge of childbirth mean to you?

I searched high and low for a good pregnancy journal when I was pregnant but I couldn’t find any that focused on the mother’s internal experience or that helped mothers-to-be engage in inner work.

Most pregnancy journals I found were focused on tracking scans or brainstorming baby names; none had questions that help women prepare mentally and emotionally for birth and motherhood at a deeper level.

In that moment I thought, why don’t I create the journal I wish I had had whilst pregnant? Even if it helps one mother-to-be it’s worth creating and sharing. And here we are! Over 100 women have used and loved the Dear Me Mother-to-be pregnancy journal 🥰

🌹The Dear Me Mother-to-be Pregnancy Journal is unlike any pregnancy journal you’ll find on the market.

🌹It is filled with 48 prompt questions to reflect on and explore to ignite shifts in perspectives and facilitate emotional releases and deep healing.

🌹As well as containing questions to help you mentally and emotionally prepare for labour and motherhood.

Head to my website to order your copy and start your journalling journey. We ship Australia wide and are proudly a Mum-run Australian business.

And you’re meant to change! So many women finding the transition to motherhood hard because they are clinging to their old lives and their old selves.

Each baby you bring into this world will call you to expand and grow into a new version of yourself as woman and mother.

Embrace it 💗 which I know is easier said than done sometimes.

I struggled with letting go of my past maiden life and wish I had some guidance and support during that time. After realizing this I created my From Maiden to Mother ebook to share all that helped me and all that I wish I knew when pregnant for the first time.

Whilst journalling should never replace therapy with a professional person or service I did intentionally create the journal in a way that it is powerfully therapeutic and can be a gentle entry way for women who want to turn within and engage in healing inner work. ❤️‍🩹

This feedback from two different mums values that for me. One experienced deep healing of a mother wound she was carrying. And the other found the journal as powerful as a therapy session!

In my work as a therapist for nearly 15 years I very often recommended journalling to my clients. It’s a practice that has been proven to be effective in reducing stress, anxiety, and feelings of depression. It brings clarity, mental ease, and release of emotions.

As a pregnant woman you may not want to engage in traditional forms of therapy or not have access to them, so journalling with the Dear Me Mother-to-be pregnancy journal can be an alternative or a supportive add-on if you already attend therapy.

Order your copy today and see what healing it has in store for you 🫶🏻

Here she is… the front cover of my new Dear Me Mother Me mother’s journal!!

This gorgeous artwork was custom designed for this journal by the talented

🪴It reminds us that as mothers, if we tend to ourselves, we continue to evolve just as our children do. The earth is there below us, supporting us as mothers as we reach for the sky and grow alongside our children.

🌹The rose in full bloom is present as a symbol of the mature mother, reminding us of our beauty and our strength at this time in our lives.

I wanted the cover of the mother’s journal to be a gorgeous piece of art that inspires mums to pick up their journal and tend to themselves. What do you think? Does it do that?

The Dear Me Mother Me mother’s journal will be available to purchase Tuesday April 28th.

Part 2 ~ How to do Inner Work?
(Firstly if you missed part 1 explaining what inner work is check out that post first)

I’m a big advocate for inner work during pregnancy and I’ll tell you why.

Firstly, a lot of inner “stuff” will naturally arise during pregnancy. It’s all part of the rite of passage and transformation that pregnancy is. I believe it comes up for a reason: for you the mum-to-be to evolve into the best version of yourself before baby arrives.

Secondly, I believe the more you face your inner “stuff” (like fears, worries, limiting beliefs, etc) the better prepared mentally and emotionally you’ll be for labour and motherhood.

There are many other reasons of course. Like walking into motherhood feeling lighter, more grounded, and more at peace.

For some women inner work will come easily to them but for others, perhaps yourself, you may be unsure of how to get started so I hope this post helps.

If you have any questions about doing inner work drop a comment below or send me a DM.
