A simple question can open the door to a conversation that matters. Today on R U OK? Day, we’re reminding each other to check in, listen without judgement and make space for honest conversations about mental health.

Our teams marked the day in different ways – from building confidence in supportive conversations, to sharing a cupcake and simply taking the time to ask a colleague, “Are you OK?”

We were also inspired by the women in our Living Well Group, who created a group painting to reflect on what World Su***de Prevention Day means to them.

If someone’s on your mind, trust your instinct and ask: “Are you OK?” You don’t need all the answers. Sometimes, being there is enough.

It was a privilege to visit Parliament House today and meet with the Victorian Minister for Carers, Volunteers and Youth, Luba Grigorovitch MP.

Our CEO and Executive Director of Client Services highlighted the often invisible role carers play in their families and communities. Did you know? We provide carer services to over 17,000 people across Victoria each year, with 5,000 of these being young carers.

Thank you to the Minister and her team for taking the time to learn more about our work and the communities we support. Read more about carer support available: https://loom.ly/tI3sqIc

Today is Indigenous Literacy Day. 40–70% of Aboriginal adults have low English literacy — and in some remote areas, it's as high as 90%. This can impact daily life from reading a medication label to sending a text.

But change is happening. Communities across the country are leading the way.

Every 31st August, International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) brings people together across the world to take action on overdose.

Today, we hosted an event at our site to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open, honest conversations about overdose and the support that's available.

We also took the time to pause and remember those whose lives have been lost or deeply affected by overdose. This day is still needed. But it doesn't have to be forever.

If you or someone you know is seeking alcohol and/or drug support, we're here: https://loom.ly/NyxitC4

🌈💜 It’s Wear It Purple Day! We’re proud to stand with LGBTQIA+SB young people. 89% have experienced bullying, harassment or violence in their lifetime, according to Minus18’s 2025 Q***r Youth Now report.

As a Rainbow Tick accredited organisation, we’re committed to creating safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces where LGBTQIA+SB young people feel respected, valued and able to be themselves.

This week, our team wore purple to celebrate this year’s theme, Colours of Courage. We’re recognising the courage it takes to speak up, create change, live authentically and stand alongside others.
