For years, vitiligo was written off as “just cosmetic”. That sentiment is changing: we now understand vitiligo as a real disease, and it is finally getting the attention it deserves.

The progress is worth celebrating, but we must not lose sight of the science beneath it: the treatments getting the most attention work by quieting the immune attack. That can help, but it’s often not the whole answer, and the results don’t always last.

With the completion of the Company’s advanced trial CUV105 comparing SCENESSE® (afamelanotide) and the adjunct NB-UVB therapy to the monotherapy NB-UVB, this commercial review addresses recently posed questions while providing objective peer reviewed benchmarks.

CLINUVEL’s novel drug has been granted a Notice of Compliance (NOC) by Health Canada for the prevention of phototoxicity in adult patients with erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP).

The NOC acknowledges the compliance of the new drug submission with Section C.08.002 andC.08.005 of the Canadian Food and Drug Regulations and grants CLINUVEL the right to market afamelanotide in Canada.
