Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is the peak body representing medical radiation practitioners in Australia.

The ASMIRT facilitates educational activities, discussion and consultation among members and others. We set standards of competency in practice and encourage scholarship and continuing professional development. The ASMIRT uses social media for the distribution of news and updates to members and non-members, and to facilitate discussion between professionals of the medical radiation sciences. The A

SMIRT may also use social media to promote its online learning programmes, events and partnerships to its members and wider health professionals. Any advice or professional guidance offered on these pages by members of this Facebook group cannot replace thorough and proper consultation with department colleagues/supervisors. The ASMIRT cannot be held responsible for the veracity of information provided by external participants. The principles of professional behaviour and ethical conduct apply equally in person or online, and this is recognised in the Social Media Policy of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA). ASMIRT Rural Clinical Placement Scheme | Semester 2 Closing Soon

Applications for the Rural Clinical Placement Scheme close this week! The Scheme provides two grants per calendar year for each university that offers approved MRS programs in medical imaging, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine.

Each grant up to $1000 can be used by the recipient for necessary travel and accommodation. The grant aims to support and promote rural health initiatives. Applications close Sunday 6 September 2026.

ASMIRT recently conducted a survey of people who completed ASMIRT Certifications over the past three years and found:
