Wrinkles are creases in the skin... We all know those tell-tale signs: wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots, pigmentation. These indications of age are particularly bothersome when they come prematurely, causing us to look older than how we feel.

Slow skin cell production, thinning skin layers and a lack of collagen proteins cause wrinkles to form on your skin.

Collagen is a protein within your body that gives your skin structure. It provides stretchiness or elasticity so you can move easily. Your skin is similar to a rubber band. If that rubber band stretches or moves too much, the rubber band becomes loose and loses its ability to snap back to its normal size and shape. When your body’s cells age, their ability to produce proteins slows down. This makes it more difficult for your rubber band to snap back to its original shape, which causes wrinkles.

Ageing is unavoidable; however, using the right DMK skin products and treatments on your skin is critical for maintaining a youthful appearance. Starting a DMK skin treatment is an excellent way to ensure that your skin is nurtured and that damage is prevented.

Pores are those tiny holes on your skin where oil comes out to reach the surface.

How does congestion happen?

It happens when our sebaceous glands overproduce sebum (oil). This leads to our pores potentially overfilling, resulting in comedones (whiteheads & blackheads). The area on the face known as the T-Zone, made up of the forehead, nose, and around the mouth and chin, contains a higher amount of oil glands, so it tends to get more blackheads, congestion and breakouts.

Oily skins usually have transepidermal water loss (TEWL)💦, meaning they have plenty of oil but not enough water. The oil in the skin needs ample water under it to push it up onto the surface to create the skin's acid mantle.

Some tips for you:

👉 INCREASE your water intake.

👉 START taking Essential Fatty Acid.

👉 STOP over-exfoliating!

👉 Having the correct skin care products, a morning and night routine, and a treatment regime tailored to your skin has proven results to enable the skin to function OPTIMALLY and look healthy.
