Medical Pantry

Medical Pantry a not-for-profit rescuing unused medical supplies and equipment and redirecting them to communities in need, worldwide.

Hear from Dr. Martin Nguyen (Founder of Medical Pantry), Ganesh Sen (Founder of Reach 4 Your Future Foundation) and Dr Asiri Arachchi (Colorectal Surgeon) as they discuss how three organisations collaborated to deliver crucial medical supplies to Fiji at the High Tea for Cancer Care & Research fundraiser event.

Over $10,000 was raised for cancer care and research at this annual fundraiser hosted by Reach 4 Your Future Foundation at The Windsor Hotel. All proceeds support vital patient and carer initiatives through the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation 🎗️

Partnerships like these show the power of collaboration, community care and ensuring crucial medical supplies reach the people and organisations who need them most.

Last month, Medical Pantry supplied Reach 4 Your Future Foundation with 10 shipping containers of stoma bags for patients in Suva, Fiji, following a need identified by Dr Asiri Arachchi. Ganesh Sen helped facilitate the logistics to ensure these important supplies reached communities across the Pacific Islands.

At Medical Pantry, we help redirect medical supplies across Australia and around the world to under-resourced communities, partner clinics and wildlife organisations.

Together with our volunteers and community partners, we are helping improve healthcare access and giving medical supplies a meaningful purpose where they are needed most.

Fresh minds, real impact from day one. ✨
Our University of Melbourne interns hit the ground running with hands-on experience in our warehouse, turning donations into life-saving supplies. Now diving into innovation projects like Waste Auditor and Matchmaker, helping build smarter, greener systems for hospitals and communities.

We love hearing from our partners and to know that our good, useable products that was once due for landfill is now being used to save lives brings us immense joy 🫶😊

We keep getting donations from Medical Pantry! 💚

Medical Pantry is an Australian-based charity rescuing HUGE amounts of medical supplies from ending up in landfill.
Medical Pantry

We recently received a large shipment of 1ml syringes — and we use 3–5 per cat!

• 1 for pre-med

• 1 for injectable antibiotics

• 1 for injectable pain relief

And sometimes:

• 1 more for rabies vaccine

• 1 more for anti-parasite injection

These syringes are essential to our day-to-day operations — but they can be VERY expensive to purchase in Thailand.

We have received HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of these, saving us THOUSANDS of baht.

We are incredibly grateful to Medical Pantry for helping reduce our medical supply costs AND protect the planet at the same time. 🌏💚

A big thank you to Alex & Leonie for being flight volunteers and bringing these supplies to us! ✈️

Medical Pantry helps over 100+ animal welfare partners from Australia and overseas and it's wonderful to know that these partners are also helping fellow partners get access to life-saving supplies from Medical Pantry.

This collegiate bunch of organisations have:

(a) recommended other animal welfare organisations to Medical Pantry who in turn become partners (YAAY!)

(b) introduced "travellers" to Medical Pantry so that supplies can be taken directly to them (especially if it's overseas) and some have even shared their baggage weight with other partners in the same country.

One such organisation is Rob's Dogs Foundation (RDF) in Koh Samui who introduced the wonderful Leonie Walsh, Founder of The Elephant Emporium (TEE), to our partners in Thailand. Leonie sources ethically produced goods from Thailand and she has facilitated multiple trips and brought over 100+kgs of supplies to partners such as Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) and many more. Now that's travelling with a purpose! We can't thank RDF & Leonie enough for the introduction.

We love hearing positive feedback from our partners 🥰

We love hearing positive feedback from our partners 🥰

Did you know we work with the likes of Medical Pantry and other hospitals, clinics and surgeries to help repurpose unused medical goods? (99% are brand new, but ‘expired’)

Items like Kidney bowls (that would otherwise end up as landfill) can be repurposed in creative ways such as enrichment buffet bowls for wildlife. (See cute pic below)

We can repurpose many many many things no longer needed or able to be used from the healthcare setting for humans.

Working with groups such as this ensures not only do our wildlife carers have what they need at no cost, but also that we consciously control the amount of waste we produce as a charity and the carbon footprint we leave. It’s a win win really.

Big milestone for Medical Pantry 🌍

After months of planning and collaboration, the Victoria Health Clinic in Tanzania is nearly complete.

The container of medical equipment facilitated by Medical Pantry and the International Rotary Club arrived in Dar es Salaam in early January, and Rashidi Sumaili is currently on the ground in Kigoma overseeing the customs clearance process.

This shipment carries medical supply donations that will help provide better healthcare for the local community.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped sort, pack, and prepare this equipment. Your efforts are making a real difference.

From warehouse volunteers to partners on the ground, this is what impact looks like.
