Who is at risk of Long C19?

Studies have shown Long C19 is more common among people:

- who have had C19 multiple times
- between 35 and 69 years old
- who are women
- with chronic health conditions
- who have not had a C19 injection
- who had a severe C19 infection (requiring hospitalisation)
- who smoke
- with obesity

So many are choosing not to use tools that we know can significantly reduce the spread of viruses and are marching towards health outcomes that could be avoided.

It's not too late to start wearing a fitted respirator to reduce your risk of acquiring an airborne virus.

Good places to start wearing a respirator are in healthcare settings, aged care, public transport and in shops.

The following study was conducted:

"High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filters to Prevent Winter Respiratory Infections in Care Homes"

Concluding:
"In this cluster randomized clinical trial, we found no evidence that HEPA filters reduced resident winter respiratory infection episodes, other infections, antibiotic use, or staff absenteeism."

Interestingly the researchers:
"Considered and decided against conducting monitoring visits to check intervention compliance" - In other words to check the HEPA filters were on.

And stated:
"There were also insufficient CADRs. An explanatory study might have used more sophisticated modeling, including frequency and proximity of staff, visitor, and resident interactions and room ventilation levels to determine more precise CADR requirements. However, we do not believe that a greater number of HEPA filters, or the increased cost, air cooling, and noise associated with higher CADR units, would have been acceptable."
