🎤 Meet Our Host: Dr Connie Buckingham

We're excited to welcome Dr Connie Buckingham as the host of the Tasmanian ADHD Conference 2026. 💙

Connie is a psychologist, lecturer, researcher, and the creator of Social Stencil, one of Australia's first neuroaffirming social-emotional learning frameworks, helping young people better understand themselves, navigate relationships, and build confidence.

With more than 25 years of experience and a deep commitment to neuroaffirming practice, Connie brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and insight to everything she does.

We can't wait to have her guiding us through a day of learning, connection, and community in Hobart this July. 🧡

Help us give Connie a warm MSC welcome!

POV: you stopped explaining yourself. And started connecting with your people. 💛
You know that feeling when you don’t have to translate? No need to masking, hiding or explaining yourself.
That’s what this room looked like.

Just announced for Sunday 🔥

You may have seen him on Britain’s Got Talent 2026: the Perth freestyle rapper whose ADHD brain moves so fast that Simon Cowell said he’d never heard anything like it. We’re thrilled to share that Stian Macshane is opening the WA ADHD Conference.

Before our speakers take the stage, Stian Macshane kicks off the morning live, lifting the whole room and showing exactly what a spirited, neurodivergent brain can do when it’s understood instead of held back. If you, or your child, have ever been called “too much,” this is the morning you’ll want to be in the room for.

It all happens this Sunday, and tickets are going fast.

🗓 Sunday 21 June, 10am to 4pm AWST
📍 Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre

ADHD interrupting isn’t rudeness. It’s a popup.
A new connection fires - and if they don’t say it now, it’s gone. They’re not tuning you out. They’re completely in it with you.

Save this for the next time someone reads it as rude. 🔖

What if the "defiant" behaviour isn't defiance at all?

For a lot of ADHD kids, anxiety doesn't show up as worry. It shows up as the refusal, the meltdown, the shutdown at the door before school. So you spend your energy managing the behaviour, while the thing actually driving it stays invisible. No wonder the usual advice keeps missing.

This is exactly what Stephanie Pinto is unpacking in Webinar 2, and it's happening this Wednesday.

You'll learn how to spot the signs anxiety is hiding under the ADHD, why it looks so different in kids aged 4 to 14, why traditional approaches can quietly make it worse, and the strategies you can use the very next morning. Plus a live Q&A at the end, where you can ask Stephanie about your own kid, anonymously if you'd rather.

🧠 Webinar 01 may be over, but the journey continues…

Have you ever felt like you’re constantly walking on eggshells?

Never quite sure what might trigger the next meltdown, shutdown, or wave of worry?
You’re not alone.

For many children with ADHD, anxiety can be hiding beneath behaviours that are often misunderstood. And if you don’t know what you’re looking for, it’s incredibly difficult to know how to help.

That’s why we’re excited to invite you to Webinar 02: ADHD & Anxiety – Spot It, Understand It & Know What to Do with Stephanie Pinto.

This practical session will help you:
🧠 Recognise the signs of anxiety in ADHD children
💡 Understand what’s really driving the behaviour
🛠️ Learn practical strategies you can use straight away
💛 Support your child to feel safer, calmer, and more confident

If you’ve ever wondered whether there’s something deeper behind your child’s ADHD behaviours, this webinar is for you.

It's coming next Wednesday. 🎟️ Register now: https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1596116

That guilt you've been carrying?
It was never yours.

If you've spent years feeling too much, remember this.
You're not broken. You're not lazy. You just haven't been in the right room yet.
The right room changes everything💙
Tag someone who needs to find their people.

SSome of the best moments at the Victorian ADHD Conference didn’t happen on the stage. They happened at the tables.

Our exhibitors aren’t just brands with a banner. They’re neurodivergent people who built something to help their own community, then showed up in person to share it. You could feel it in the room. People who get it, supporting people who get it. No over-explaining, no masking, no heads tilting in confusion.

That’s the whole point of being together. You walk in carrying it all on your own, and you leave knowing you never actually were. To every exhibitor who came to give back, thank you for being part of the village 🤝

Who did you connect with at the conference? Tell us below so we can shout them out ❤️
