Fresh air, wildlife, sand and foliage. There’s so much to explore and enjoy in the outdoors for your little one! Going for walks as a family in nature is a great way to build endurance. Once children master walking, they are ready to traverse the varied terrain of the great outdoors including mud, rocks, sand and grass, which challenges their stability. Nature gives us many great obstacles like logs and roots to help improve foot eye coordination. Pushing up and controlling going downhill all help strengthen muscles and improve joint strength. Remember their limitations and ensure they have time to rest and fuel with plenty of snacks and water. What are your favourite places to walk in nature?
